Felix POV:

Once I got downstairs to make dinner, I realized that I had no clue how to cook. I sighed 'Why do I always do this to myself?' I asked myself. Then I remembered why, for Marzia.

I went through all of our food, searching for something easy to make. I decided to settle on spaghetti because I have seen Marzia make it lots of times, and it didn't look too hard. I put the box of noodles on the counter then searched around for a pot to boil the water in. I turned on the stove and waited around for a while.

All of a sudden I realized something. I left the ring in the bedroom, out on my nightstand. I started to panic, what if Marzia saw it and knew what I was planning. I quickly ran back to the room.

When I ran back into the room I was met by my girlfriend, fast asleep. I smiled because she looked so cute, curled up on the bed.

I turned towards my side of the bed and saw the dark, blue box sitting on the table.

I grabbed the ring and started to leave, but I must have made too much noise because I heard Marzia wake up.

"Felix?" she said in a sleepy voice.

I turned around and smiled at her "Hey...sorry I didn't mean to...go back to sleep. Dinner isn't ready yet" I quickly shoved the box into my back pocket.

"What are you doing?" She sat up, rubbing her eyes.

I knew I had no good reason for being here. "....just checking on you...?" I remembered the water boiling. "I gotta go" I quickly kissed her lips softly and left the room to go back to the kitchen.

When I think the water is ready, I pour in the noodles and begin to stir them gently, like I've seen Marzia do a billion times.

I take the box out of my back pocket I rub my thumb over its soft, velvety texture. I put the box down and continued to stir the spaghetti.

I walk to the fridge to grab the tomato sauce. Right now, I cannot even focus on the task at hand. All I can think about is Marzia and the ring.

How will I ask her?

Will she say yes?

Will she say no?

That last question burned into my mind. What IF she said no? I don't know what I'd do without Marzia.

I froze, trying to imagine my life without Marzia, I couldn't.

My thoughts were interrupted when the smoke detector went off.

"Oh shit!" I shut off the stove and pulled the spaghetti off the burner. I heard Marzia open the door.

"Do you need any help?" Her sweet Italian voice called from the hallway.

"No! Everything is fine" I said, waving a towel in the air to make the smoke go away.

"Okay..." Marzia sounded nervous. But she let it go.

Once I turned the smoke detector off, I turned back to the noodles. I didn't think they looked that bad so I decided just to put the sauce on it and scoop them on to two plates.

I put the plates on the table and went to grab a bottle of wine.

"Marzia!" I called. "It's ready!"

I saw Marzia walk into the room. She saw the spaghetti and smiled.

"Awww...you are adorable" she walked over to me and kissed me on the cheek.

I smiled "Only for you"
