4. Day with the Pugs

Marzia POV:

"Felix! Are you coming?" I finally found Maya's leash. It was under our bed for some reason, Edgar must have dragged it under there. Felix emerged from the hallway and smiled at me.

"Actually, I was thinking of making a video or two"

"Okay, have fun. I'll be home soon" I kissed him on the cheek and turned to go outside with Maya and Edgar on their leashes. I was about to step outside when suddenly Felix gently grabbed my arm and turned me back around to face him. He kissed my mouth lovingly and sweetly. When he pulled away he gave me a small smile.

"Stay safe and don't talk to strangers" he joked, letting me leave. I rolled my eyes and walked out the door.

I walked down the street with the pigs towards the pet shop. When I arrived at the store, I walked up and down the isles, grabbing treats and toys and various other dog supplies. After I buy my items I decide to check the time. Since it has only been about ten minutes, I decide it couldn't hurt to walk the dogs to the park and let them run around for a little while. Once I have walked the couple of blocks to the park, the dogs are getting excited. Since the park is pretty empty, and fenced in, I let the dogs off their leashes and they ran and chased after each other. I sat down on a nearby bench, watching my pugs have a good time, when suddenly I heard someone sit down next to me. Slightly startled, I turned to see a man, probably in his early twenties, sitting there looking at me.

"Hey" he says, smiling at me. I nod back at him to be polite. "Those your dogs?" He motions towards Maya and Edgar who are wrestling in the grass about ten feet away from the bench.

"Yeah. The brown one is Maya and the black one is Edgar" I answer him nicely, but try to hint that I don't want to talk. He doesn't pick up on it.

"They're pretty cute" he says, still looking at me. "Like you"

At this point I get pretty mad, but being the nice person I am, I stay calm. I force a small smile, and pretend to check the time.

"I gotta go. Maya! Edgar!" I get up as my dogs run towards me.

He gets up with me.

"I'm James" I holds out a hand.

"Marzia" I quickly shake his hand then clip Maya and Edgar back to their leashes.

"Maybe we could hang out sometime" he says.

I shake my head at him "I don't think so. Sorry"

I start to walk away, but he chases after me.

"Are you sure? Maybe just in case you change your mind, I could get you number?"

"James you seem really nice...but I don't think-" my phone rings, interrupting my sentence.

I look at the caller ID and see that it is Felix. James is still looking at me willingly.

"I'm sorry James. My boyfriend is waiting for me"

His face falls when the word 'boyfriend' comes out of my mouth. He nods and backs away slowly.

"Okay, well nice to meet you anyway".

As he walks away I answer my phone.
"Hey Felix, I'm on my way home" I say, answering the phone.

"Oh, okay, just checking in" he replied.

"I'll see you when you get home"

"Okay, I love you. Bye!"

"Bye. Love you too" I hear him say before I hang up the phone and begin to walk the pugs back to the house.
