Chapter 21

Ros just smiled as Christian helped me down and helped smooth my skirt back in place, Taylor turned his back waiting on me to cover myself. Christian growled, "if Ana and I are in here with the door shut, do not barge in." Taylor looked contrite Ros was not fazed by Christians' harsh tone or intimidating look she just bit out "there will time to be intimate with your wife later, right now someone is screwing with us and trying to pin it on me." Christian slid his chair under his desk. I think trying to hide his erection, he pulled me to sit on his lap, and as I landed in his lap, I could tell Ros and Taylor interrupting us did nothing to deflate his libido. I squirmed on his lap trying to get comfortable. He dug his fingers in hard to my hips, pulling my ear to his mouth. "Behave," he said in a deadly tone; I turned to bat my eyes as innocently as possible and whispered, "Sorry." He pulled me back into him, "you are such a tease." I smiled as his hands gripped my hips to keep me from moving.

Our foreplay was interrupted when Ros snapped, "Christian, are you listening?" By his reaction, I could tell he had no clue why the two of them barged in on us. I knew working from his office was a bad idea. I for one was not getting much done in the way of work. I started to get up. They had something important to discuss, and I was distracting Christian, but Christian pulled me back down on his lap and in his dom voice, muttered: "don't move."

He looked at Ros once more "this better be important, why are you in my office?" I coward a bit. I forgot how intimidating Christian could be. She started again, "someone is fucking with our finances and trying to pin it on me." When Christian perked and began to listen, she continued. "I noticed yesterday a weird transaction fee paid to an attorney I had never heard of; I flagged the transaction to ask you about just in case you were trying new counsel or using supplemental resources. I went to print it this morning, but the receipt was not in the system.

I searched the amount, and the transaction coded in the General Ledger is to our regular counsel. Still, when I pulled a copy of the check, it was made out to the firm I did not recognize then when I ran the audit trail, it showed I cut the check and recorded the transaction. I knew nothing about this. When I Google the firm, they are nonexistent. They do not have a website, phone number, or anything to indicate this firm is a business. I ran an audit of all checks cut this month and found about a dozen more that don't make sense. They also show I initiated payment for these fictitious vendors."

Christian listened intently, I could see his brain trying to process, "do we have any guesses as to who is stealing from me?" "No, I wanted to bring it to your attention as whoever is doing this looks like they are going to pin it on me. It was a fluke that I caught the transaction."

Christian looked at Taylor "on the down-low, ask Ryan if he has any resources that handle forensic accounting. We cannot let on that we know anything is different. Let me know what the team finds. I am anxious to discover who is stealing money from me."

The next morning I arrived early to work Taylor, and I had a call with Ryan and Zach, and I did not want to risk Ana overhearing our conversation in my study. I needed to figure out our plan before I shared any information with Ana. Ryan was helping to figure out the accounting fraud, and we had updates on her attack. I had convinced her to work from my office today even though she knew she was a distraction. She would bring Teddy with her after they had breakfast. It helped me focus, having Ana by my side, and not having to worry about her and if she was safe.

Taylor had received the results of the testing we requested from Ana's attack. The results had not been shared with me yet, but the way Taylor clenched his jaw when we spoke, I knew the results were not good. Attacks on our systems had been frequent, and honestly, Taylor had concerns that security systems may have been breached hence the extra precaution.
