Time for a Good Time

It was 6:45. You were jamming out to your favorite music and decided to shower and curl your hair. Then you put on a full face of makeup to make you feel your best. Then the outfit...you didn't really care how you looked since you didn't have anyone to impress and you were going out to forget about everything. So you threw on one of your go to outfits.

"Perfect," you said out loud to yourself in the mirror.
You chose your favorite pair of dark skinny jeans, sandals and a flow-y floral halter neck tank top. Comfy and cute and great to dance in!
Suddenly you heard a knock on the door. You turned down your music and looked at your watch, 8:12...Emma's early! You smiled to yourself at the thought.
"Let me in!!!" Emma yelled from your front door.
"Emma you know it's open just come in!" you yelled back at her.
Emma was wearing a sun dress and her favorite heels.
"Uhh you look a bit dressed up for a girls night," you said jokingly.
"No one said this was a girls night," she cleverly answered back.
"Fair enough."
Emma was a flirt, but she was always genuinely looking for love. She always fell so fast and so deeply and most of the time her relationships didn't work out so she was with a new guy every few weeks.
"Where is Connor by the way?" Emma asked.
"Um he and I got in a huge fight today and we called it quits"
"I'm sorry to hear that Paige, I know you really liked him."
"I did, but things just weren't meant to work out I guess."
"Well on that super positive note, are you ready to go?" Emma asked, probably to get out of the awkward conversation.
"Yeah! Where did you say we were going?"
"A new pub down in Old Town, called The White Lion. They brew a lot of their own beer."
"Sounds interesting, I'm down!"
"They're also having a live band tonight!"
"Oh that's exciting! Live music is always so much better."
"Agreed!"
The two of you left your place and got to the pub around 8:40. You walked in and it didn't feel new at all. It had a somewhat modern industrial charm to it, a bunch of old signs that looked like they're were right out of the 50's and 60's. It was dark and had the dark wood, typical for most pubs. It smelled of sweet hops and cigar smoke.
You found a small table near the stage and decided you needed a drink, so you got up and asked Emma what she wanted.
"Um I'll take their special, peanut butter and coconut sounds like an interesting beer flavor!"
"Got it," you said back before turning towards the bar.
"What'll it be for ya?" the bar tender asked in a cute Scottish accent.
"Two very large glasses of your specialty brew, please," you said trying to sound less like an alcoholic and more like a girl wanting to let go.
"Comin' right up for ya darlin'," he answered back with a wink.
Soon you made your way back over to Emma trying your best not to spill the drinks everywhere in the crowded pub.
"Perfect!" Emma said right before taking a sip, "wow this is actually really good!"
"It is pretty good. I wasn't sure about it at first, but I like it!" you replied after taking a sip for yourself.
After a bit, a voice came over the speakers and you realized the band was getting ready to play. You turned your chair to face the stage and when you looked at Emma she was waving at the singer.
"Do you know him?" you asked.
"No, but I really want to," she said back with a cheeky grin and raised her cup to "cheers" with you.
After a few songs, a mix of newer pop music and some old folk tunes, and a few more drinks, your favorite pub jam began to play and you knew it instantly! You drank the rest of your beer and grabbed Emma by the arm.
"I love this song, we have to dance!"
Emma didn't oppose and soon you made your way to nearly the front of the stage.

'And I asked you friend, what's a fella to do? Cause her hair was black and her eyes were blue.'

You were singing along and the next thing you knew, you were dancing with a handsome brunette and yelling out with the crowd "of a day-i-ay i-ay!" The crowd went nuts during the song and it gave you such a high. You never wanted the night to end.
