Satisfactory Sparks

A beam of light;
In the midst of night.

Just when I'm almost asleep;
A new thought will seep.

It happens almost every day;
Most of the time it isn't in the way.

But other times it brings flight;
So I'll get up and write.

And it's deep into the late hours;
Hopefully that didn't mean I sacrificed my showers.

Even though an idea rushes in;
Sometimes it's a case where I needed a pin.

It's writers' block that gets me stuck;
And most of the time I can't get out of the muck.

But sometimes there's just the right spark;
And it makes my mind upright and stark.

And with those thoughts I project on the screen;
I'm finally satisfied with their sheen.

So when my mind gives me opportunities, I take them without hesitation.

Because, well, I don't want to once again lose my inspiration.
