" Control to 3006, what's the reason for your slow response to the labour call over?"
No response.
"Control to 3006 over."
In the close distance a lady had removed herself from her car, phone in hand she dialled 999.
" Hi, ambulance please. We are on the road to Silk Avenue and a lorry has gone onto the wrong side of the road and hit a motorbike. It looks like it's one of your paramedic bike. The paramedic is unconscious and other bystanders are seeing to her."
The call continued. Alarms bells started ringing in the control centre as to why 3006 aka Ruby wasn't responding to her radio.
Lev and Jan was immediately alerted to the scene by control.
Bystanders tried to get a response from Ruby. One held her neck still, whilst others checked for pulses and the rise and fall of her chest.
No Response.
A man crawled his way from the deep bushed area where his lorry had ended up. His head was bleeding. He held his arm as it throbbed in excruciating pain.
Sirens could be heard in the distance, but could not be seen.
