Meanwhile in RESUS Dylan was treating Ruby.
" Ruby, I'm gonna check you over, head to toe and then we'll see what the next move will be." Dylan peered over at Ruby, her head locked in place by a collar and some tape. She stared up at the pan white tiled ceiling, continuously counting how many tiles lined the ceiling, it was the only thing she could do,
Dylan began by whinging his pen torch in Ruby's eyes. Left eye to right, he repeated the assessment.
"Can we order a head CT please." He turned to Robyn,
This time talking a little quieter'"her left pupil is slightly sluggish' I'm concerned about her head injury."
Ruby sense the concern."What's wrong?"
"Nothing as of yet, just covering the basics." Dylan briefly replied.
Dylan?
He turned back.
"Please don't hide anything from me. It works with normal patients but I've got medical training, I know when somethings wrong."
"Okay if I'm being honest, your left pupil is slightly sluggish, compared to the right. However you know this we don't know anything until after scans."
"Okay thank you, please can you keep updating me?"
He nodded in reply.
A brief moment passed and the door to RESUS flung open.
In the distance Lily's voice could be heard" Iain wait up".
He wasn't listening. Iain stormed into RESUS.
"Ruby!"
It was a different side to Iain. He was usually seen as calm, collected in any situation.
