Y/n's Pov:

It's December 24th. Christmas Eve. Me and Shawn agreed on spending Christmas together. My parents are coming too. Something feels odd. It's been 2 years since we met and it was like yesterday when we accidentally bumped into each other at school. Who would have thought that we would end up like this? This has been one hell of a year. My life changed dramatically. Me and Shawn got closer. It's only obvious when you spend all day coexisting in the same house with someone.

And now I'm about to meet his parents.

Truth be told, I'm nervous. The adrenaline has taken all over my body. We're standing outside his home's door and my mind is blank.

S: Y/n?

I'm unable to say a word.

S: Aye, what's gotten into you?

He grabbed my shoulders and looked down at me. The eye contact so strong, it feels like setting my whole body on fire.
He lightly taps on my cheek to snap me out of the imaginary world in my head that I have been trapped. A world with nothingness. The world doesnt exist. We just live in the void.

S: Y/N!

He screamed out my name and slapped me real hard this time. I was no longer trapped in a nightmare. The existential crisis was over. My stiff shoulders went slack and I checked my surroundings.

Shawn's house is beautiful and certainly the most eye-catching in the block. It looks huge. There are trees near the entrance fence and generally the whole yard is full of dense greenery. Few meteres away from the door, there's a pool. Apparently, it's covered by a pool cover so that it can be maintained in a good condition during whatever weather phenomenon.

I look at Shawn and I feel full of life again.

Y/n: I think I-

Before I can finish my sentence, the door slides open to reveal 3 figures staring at me with warm welcoming smiles.

Karen: Welcome sweetie! We wanted to meet you for such a long time but Shawn said you're quite the shy one.

Shawn said what?!

He never mentioned that his parents wanted to meet me.

I looked at Shawn, who was looking around the yard like it was his first time here and then back at his parents.

Y/n: Yeah, I'm having a hard time when it comes to meeting new people. It's not easy for me to communicate and socialise, you know.

At that point, Shawn faked a cough still not looking at me.

I ignored it and I reached out my hand to greet them.

Y/n: Nice to meet you all!

Aaliyah: I'm Aaliyah. Shawn's sister.

Y/n: It's nice to meet you, Aaliyah.

We did the typical handshakes and then I walked into their house.

The inside of it wasn't as luxurious as someone would have thought. When I stepped in I instantly got hit by cozy vibes and I looked around the place. On the right side, there's a short hallway leading to the kitchen. In front of the frontdoor, is the living room. Shawn's sister jumped into the couch and she almost got burried.
