There is a better & edited version in chapter 17 (maybe it's 16 I don't remember)
But yeah
Just remember that

"Can you pleeeeease wish me luck?" I asked Shayley.

"Hm.... Duh! Of course! This only happens once in a lifetime! Oh! Do you think he'll be tall? And skinny? Or will he be fat?" Shay asked me.

"Shay, calm your tits." I walked over to my kitty and petted her all over before kissing her head and saying goodbye. "WISH ME LUCK, SHAY!"

"WHAT THE FUCK! I ALREADY DID! TWICE!"

"THRID TIME'S A CHARM!"

I held my umbrella over my head, letting the soft rain hit the top of that instead of my ginger mess I call hair. I walked down a street in downtown, wandering. I checked my clock.

7 minutes 16 seconds

Holy shit. Wasn't it thirty minutes about five seconds ago? I looked down at my black shirt that had a zombie cat on it (courtesy of my friend, Oliver) and ripped up black skinnies. And I was wearing a black hoodie with black Vans. Oops.

I kept walking down checking my surroundings, seeing as this was my first time in this part of the city. I glanced at my wrist.

3 minutes, 1 second

I ran a hand through my orange locks and sighed. I looked down at my phone, oblivious to my surroundings.

Until I heard the honk.

I looked up to see an 18 wheeler coming at me, honking for dear life.

I gasped.

I wanted to move, but I couldn't.

I looked down at my clock.

7 seconds

They lied to me.

This isn't the clock for my soul mate.

This is the clock for my death.

I was pushed to the ground by a heavy object.

I opened my eyes to see a man staring at me. He had chocolate brown hair that swooped across his forehead, and covered the top of the tattoos on his neck. His mesmerizing brown orbs staring at me. He donned a purple Slipknot muscle shirt, black skinnies, and a black jacket with something white on the back I couldn't read.

We were both breathing heavily, but I was brought back to reality when the beeping noise started.

Beep, beep.

Beep, beep.

Beep, beep.

Beep, beep.

0 seconds

He got off me and stood up, pulling me along with him. I felt the water dripping off of me from the wet ground.

"H-Here, mine's dry. Well, not as wet as yours." My clockmate handed me his jacket.

"Ar-Aren't you cold, though?" I asked him.

"I'd rather be cold than to have my soul mate shivering."

I felt my cheeks burn and I knew my flesh had to be darker than my hair. "I-I'm A-Alan."

"I'm Austin. Now give me your jacket. Have mine." I slipped off my soaked fabric and replaced it with Austin's. I practically drowned in it, seeing how much bigger Austin was than me.

"Wh-Where's my umbrella?" I asked, looking around for it.

"It got crushed by the truck. You can have mine, if you want." Austin reached over and tried to hand it to me, but I stopped him.

"How 'bout we share? I'd rather both of us be dry than only me." I smiled at him.

"Okay." Austin smiled back.

Out of nowhere, I hugged him tightly. "Thank you.... I think I would've been dead by now if you weren't there to push me."

"No worries, Al." Austin kissed the top of my head.

"How 'bout we go back to my place and dry off? I forgot to feed my cat anyways."
