"WHAT?!" Hoseok spit his food across the table, turning and smacking Yoongi on the arm, "You can't just say that to her! She's a princess!"
"She might be virgin, for all you know!" Jin joined in the scolding.
"She's not," Yoongi rolled his eyes at Namjoon's questioning gaze. He lifted one finger, "She's a sorceress. Their kind are known for two things: A deep love for all things glittering and gold, and a severe lack of sexual taboo."
"That's not fair," Jimin muttered, "She seems very sweet and innocent."
"I didn't say she wasn't," Yoongi smiled at Cecily seductively, "Just that she's not a virgin. Because," he raised a second finger, "I would be able to smell it on her."
"Sm-smell it?" Cecily asked, her hand instinctively grabbing Taehyung's.
"It's not as perverted as it sounds," Yoongi grinned, "Well...maybe...anyway. When people have sex, they give a part of themselves to the other person, not in a noble way or anything prude like that...it's just that's the way it is when people expend their energy together. The time and attention to feeling good, making your partner feel good...it's..." his eyes glazed as he thought of it.
"Focus," Namjoon chuckled, "You're emitting."
"Sorry," Yoongi blushed a little, "It's nearly been a full week, and having the princess here seems to be making my hunger excelerate." He took a deep breath, "So, as I was saying...When someone has, let's say 'shared energy', with many people, the energy they give off for a feeding is less. When they haven't shared energy with anyone before, well...they have a lot to give."
"That sounds like metaphysical slut-shaming," Jimin pouted, "Gross."
"It's only from a feeding point of view," Yoongi explained, "From a non-feeding one, I prefer the freaks," he winked at Cecily.
"So am I a freak?"
"Hard to tell," he shrugged, rolling his head on his neck, "You're no saint, for sure, but you have a lot of energy to spare." He leaned forward, seeming to look down into her soul, "But...as to freak...I think it depends on what you're into."
"You said that, if I had sex with you, you could help me discover my powers?" she asked, trying not to wither under Yoongi's gaze.
"Yes, that," he relaxed, "As I explained, when you...yeah...you share energy. When you're like me, and the very way you feed is to take that energy from a person, you take on their essence. Their memories, their emotions, and even their powers. At worst, I would be able to read them, almost like how you know how food will taste because of how it smells. I could read the trails and we could decipher the hints until we figured it out." He smiled again, warmly, "At best, I could use them. I could enact them, show them to you, even help you reach into yourself and bring them out."
"And all I would have to do is have sex with you?"
"Sounds like Babygirl has an interest," he smirked.
"But..." Cecily looked up at Namjoon's face, surprised to find him smiling at her in amusement.
"I already said," he brushed her hair back behind her ear, "You're not an object for me to own. That's not how relationships work where I'm from."
"So you wouldn't be -"
"Jealous?" he chuckled, "Maybe a little. But only because I wouldn't be the one who spent the moment with you first." He grinned at Yoongi, "Some devils are luckier than others, I suppose."
"Not tonight," Jeongguk interjected, speaking for the first time in a while, "She's tired and not healed completely from her escape."
"I do feel tired," Cecily admitted.
"We'll discuss it more tomorrow," Namjoon confirmed, "For now, we need to decide sleeping arrangements."
"Whose room have I been sleeping in?" Cecily asked, ashamed that she was taking up another's space.
"Mine," Taehyung raised his hand, "Though I rarely use the bed. I prefer to sleep by the fireplace in animal form."
"Still, you should have your options," she mumbled.
"Tae and I can share the floor in there," Jeongguk offered, "I'll go wolf and you'll have the both of us to protect you. Just in case."
"It's a good idea," Namjoon nodded, "We have good protections around the area, and Jin is the best alarm system, but we can't be too sure until we find out who is after you and why."
"I feel like I'm imposing," Cecily looked at her hands, feeling like a burden.
"Nonsense," piped Hoseok, "Jimin says we're meant to be with you, and you with us. That's good enough for me."
"Again, we can discuss it tomorrow," Namjoon dipped and laid a sweet kiss to the top of her head, "Get some rest for tonight at least."
Cecily nodded, allowing Namjoon to walk her to the room she had been using since she arrived. He gave her another chaste kiss to the cheek, turning and hugging both Taehyung and Jeongguk while wishing them all a restful night. She felt like she was a bit empty as she watched him walk away down the hall, like part of her heart was leaving with him. It was profound and confusing, and her head ached to think about it too much. Sighing deeply, she stepped into the room to find Taehyung and Jeongguk already morphed into a wolf and tiger, both much bigger than she knew they should be.
She walked to the bed, letting her hands trail over the fur of the animals that flanked her. Jeongguk bumped her hand with his muzzle, earning a a deep scratch behind his ear as she giggled. Taehyung seemed to want attention as well, practically shoving his square head directly in her face until she laughed and gave him his own scratches. She planted her forehead between his large green eyes.
"Thank you for making me feel welcome," she whispered, "I hope it hasn't been too hard on you."
The tiger huffed out a snort, taking her fingers into its mouth and nibbling on them lightly with playful affection. Eventually Jeongguk must have felt they needed to go to bed, because he bodily bumped Taehyung away from Cecily, letting her take the final steps toward the bed and lay down. The wolf and tiger bonked heads a few times, running their nuzzles on each other's shoulders and pawing lightly in play until they settled down on the floor in a heap and their breaths started flowing out deep and even.
Cecily laid on her side, admiring them as she watched them from the light the three-quarter moon gave through the window. She felt thankful that they were there to make her feel safe and protected, that they even wanted to protect her in the first place. She couldn't remember any details of her previous life, but something deep in her heart told her that she had never felt such companionship before.
Cecily woke, shaking and shivering, unable to remember what about her dream had her so worked up and frightened. She felt like she should run, flee into the forest again, but could feel no present danger when she let herself search out into the nature around the house. She knew her fear was based in whatever nightmare she'd had, but still her body was cold and her heart scared. Tentatively looking at the pile of living fur on the floor, she wondered if Jeongguk would be willing to join her on the bed to sleep next to her as he had in the cave.
She watched his sides rise and fall with contented sleep, and felt guilty for even thinking of waking him up. He'd done so much for her already. Even as she dragged her blanket with her off of the bed, walking toward the animals, she felt her heart pound with shame that she might be disturbing them.
One green eye cracked open, something akin to a smile forming on the face of the sleeping tiger. He huffed quietly, putting just enough distance between he and Jeongguk for her to lay between them and moving his top paw out of the way. She almost squealed in delight, but restrained herself so as not to wake the wolf and ruin the opportunity to sleep comfortably. Laying herself down gently, she felt Taehyung snuggle into her back, his large paw falling heavily across her torso as she wrapped her arms softly around Jeongguk's thick neck and threaded her fingers through his soft fur. Taehyung pressed his muzzle into the back of her neck, the long exhale of breath warming her immediately.
"Thank you," Cecily whispered softly, just before her eyes fell shut.
