*No One's POV*
"Niall," Mark sat down in his chair and looked up at the young man.
"Yes Mr. Tomlinson," Niall looked down at him. He knew that Louis' Dad had met someone else, but he had no clue that Emma was her daughter. Although now all the names that she had mentioned up until now suddenly made him realize how clear it was that the two families were the same. He was also very thankful that she had turned him down to go hang out with his mates tonight.
"Tell me son, why is it that I find you asleep on my couch when I get home? Did Louis talk you into this? I know he's upset, but that is no reason to hurt Emma," Mark went on.
"I swear Mark, Louis has no idea about any of this, neither did I until I saw you," Niall said putting his hands up in defense.
"So this isn't some kind of thing to get to her?" Mark asked standing up and leaning forward on his desk.
"No sir, I promise I don't want to hurt her in any way," his hands went to the pockets of his sweats.
"How did you two even meet anyways?" Mark asked running a hand through his hair. They both knew this could end very badly but neither one wanted to mention what could happen with Louis if he found out.
"We met walking one day. I was walking home and she was walking to the bus. She looked upset so I talked to her and we have been talking ever since," Niall glanced around the room.
"How long ago was this?"
"About a month," Niall answered him. He didn't know how to act around Mark, with him being both his friends ex-step-dad and his girlfriends step-dad, that's a weird situation.
"And how is it you didn't realize who she was?" Mark rubbed his temples.
"I don't know, she never really mentioned anything that made it exact. She talked about Louis and you and just said that he had sisters, but never any of their names," Niall scratched the back of his head.
They both looked at the door when they heard a a long stream of barking.
"Shoo," Emma whispered to Jasmine who was circling her feet as she tried to spy on the guys, but the barking continued.
"What you doing?" Olivia snuck up behind her daughter causing her to jump.
"Nothing," Emma said in a high pitched voice from the scare then cleared her throat while she picked up the dog.
"Good, now stop spying and come help me set up a place for Jasmine to sleep," She swatted at Emma's backside.
"You mean in my bed?" Emma asked following her mother into the living room.
"She's to small still to make it onto your bed for a little while," Olivia laughed.
"No she isn't, I'll make her stares," Emma said in a baby voice while rubbing the puppies belly. "What kind of dog is she?" Emma asked seating her down on the couch while she went to help her mom.
"You know what I'm not sure, you will have to ask Mark when he comes back out here," She said standing on her tip toe's trying to get out a blanket out of the closet by the front door.
"Oh I can go ask him now," Emma started walking that way.
"Get back here," Her mother said sternly.
"Fine," Emma huffed grabbing the blanket her mother's fingertips were just touching.
"Thank you."
"Not that I'm complaining, but what brought on the buy a dog thing?" Emma's parents had never let her get a dog before, or any other animal.
"Oh me and Mark were talking and I told him how you always wanted a dog as we were walking past a pet shop. The next thing I know we are in there looking at puppies, we agreed that it would be nice for you to have a friend seeing as we just moved here. Turns out you didn't need any help with that one though did you?" Emma could sense the anger in her mother's voice, but she didn't know why. Her mother never had problems with Bryan staying the night back home, what's so different with Niall?
