Chapter 43

Mason POV

What the actual fuck is happening right now? Dad has lost his damn mind and why because Gray stood up to him. 

So now Aiden actually has a warrant out for his arrest and Tanner is now in some shit too. And if this manager decides he wants to press charges after all then I'm just as fucked. More so than anybody and I got my ass beat twice for it.

I look at Aiden who is white as a ghost and looks like he's going to be sick at any given moment.

"Yo bro it's going to be okay. Mom will figure all this out."

"How Mason. Even if mom fixes this somehow it's still on my record and no college or scholarship will touch me. I'm a junior I have scouts watching and already making offers. If I loose that then what's the point."

"You can't think like that. Mom she's smart and will fix this don't give up now."

He looks away and I can see the tears starting to roll down his face.

"Gray should've just let him finish we were almost there. Yeah it sucked and God did it hurt but we were almost done. Grayson had to come shove Dad off of me and threaten him and now look I'm getting arrested and booked, Tanner will loose everything when he has nothing left to loose and you you're only a freshman and facing a felony. Not even 16 yet and dad is trying to destroy you. Fuck it he doesn't deserve the title. Alex Reid is dead to me."

"Aiden"

"No I'm serious. He pushed all of us. He's been controlling and in grand scheme of things physically abusive to us our entire lives. But because he's a cop he can get away with it. He has some magic spell over mom that's kept her quiet and out of it until now. It took Gray getting kicked out and us arrested for her to finally stand up to dad. That man is no longer my father. I have nothing but hate for him and all he is to me now is a sperm donor. I don't even want his last name anymore. I want no part of being a Reid."

"Changing your name won't change the fact he's still our dad and yeah he snapped he finally went fucking crazy but he's also the one whose taught us everything and been our biggest supporter and fan our whole life. I'm not defending his actions he's in the wrong but you can't loose site of the good parts of him either."

"Don't Mason. Don't try and tell me how I should feel or what to consider. Why are you even defending him. Do you not realize your little five finger discount will cost you a felony and you will go to Juvie until you're 18 and then big boy prison.  This isn't some slap on the wrist that community service can fix Mason. There is no coming back from this. What I did is misdemeanors what you did is so much worse."

"But Tanner, he said I can't get in trouble again for something I've already gotten in trouble for."

"Yeah and we never thought Dad would send his own kids to jail either yet here we are. Dad will find some way to twist this and nail you."

Grayson comes in and sits down. He looks tired and rough.

"Guys look I'm sorry. I set the ticking bomb off by threatening him and now I can't undo any of it. You will be okay both of you. Your best line of defense is not knowing anything. So when being questioned your response is always I don't know and keep with it. They will ask same question in a different way confuse you so stay consistent. Mom she's doing her best and working hard to get all of you out of this so don't loose hope. And Aiden dude you've got one hell of an attitude try and control it okay. No smart ass remarks, no smirking, I know you're pissed and scared we all are but watch the attitude please."

"My attitude is the least of my worries right now.  I can't get arrested for being a teenager with an attitude problem."

"No but you will piss the cop interrogating you off. Control your anger and control the attitude. You can do this. You're like dad in all the wrong ways possible and now isn't the time for you to go Alex Reid on somebody. You hate him but Bubba you're exactly like him and we have got to fix that."
