Sitting on the overly stuffed chair, I stare in the mirror as my stylists do my hair and makeup. Wavern stood at the far side of the room, making sure that the dress he still kept hidden from my eyes was perfect. Although Serafina, Ottie, and Jezebell were kind, they weren't particularly the type of people I would speak with. Wavern and I understood each other, even though that seemed strange for two people of different backgrounds, it was true. Wavern was the only person inside the Capitol that I could freely speak with, not having to worry about saying the wrong thing.

Once the three of my stylists were done, I studied myself in the mirror. My hair was in big curls flowing down my back, a small bun being created at the back of my head as well. Glistening silver jewels were placed delicately over my eyelids along with a slightly dark pink. My lips were stained a light pink, shimmers of silver dust covering my bottom lip.

Walking over to me, Wavern set his hands reassuringly on my shoulders before beckoning me to come over to the dress. He had finally set it out for my eyes to see and at least I knew that if I were to die tomorrow, I would last be seen wearing a beautiful dress.

The dress was a shimmering silver, it's fabric dancing underneath the lights. As I was helped into the dress, I noticed smaller details within the sewn lining and shining jewels. Although it looked heavy on the outside, resembling the heavy metals back home, it was actually very light. Sparkling jewels covered the top of the dress, the dress being held up by off the shoulder sleeves that effortlessly stayed put around my shoulders.

Smiling at me, he placed two dangling earrings into my ears and swept one side of my hair over my left shoulder. "I've really outdone myself," he smiled brightly as he looked me over.

"I don't think anything else could top this," I smiled. "Thank you Wavern."

"Don't thank me. This is simply apart of my job. To make you look beautiful," he shrugged. "But it wasn't hard. You were already beautiful when you came in here."

Wrapping my arms around his waist, I allow myself to hug him. He wrapped his arms around me, holding me close as I latched onto the person that I recognized as family. "I'm going to miss you," I sighed as we pulled apart.

Tears threatened to fall as Wavern quickly dabbled away the water before it could ruin my makeup. "I know that you're going to make it out of there. If you don't who will I be able to make beautiful outfits for?" He said with a teary-eyed smile.

"Twenty minutes until stage!" Someone announced while banging on the door.

"We'll talk more after the interviews. Just remember not to give too much away, especially since you have a plan to stray from the Career pack," Wavern explained to me.
