Amara's POV

I have my doubts. This nagging feeling at the back of my brain that have me thinking that I am missing something. Something vitally important.

Something is not right. I can feel it. My senses are on full alert, heightened. I'm on guard, always ready for any attacks coming my way. Maybe it's in my blood. I am my father's daughter afterall. Being a lady of the Cameron household is not a simple task. Some may think I am lucky to be part of it, but they do not know the whole truth behind it.

My father used to tell me to trust my instincts. And that is what I am doing right now.

I sat on the huge chair facing the fireplace currently warming the whole room.

I tried to rethink of what Maggie have told me. Something is amiss. That man, the one they have mentioned, namely Craig.

The attack. The explosion. Everything.

There is also the thought of Megan still missing. I can only hope that she's alive. God knows how much we needed her right now.

The only thing I can hold on to is the knowledge that Gene saw her dissapeared into the Forbidden Forest in midst of the battle, to lure the Shadows away from the princess.

Although the chance of her survival is minimal, I have known her enough to trust in her to get out of there alive.

Sighing, I pulled out my sword from it's sheath, staring at its blade with my thoughts in scramble.

Megan is missing.
Gene and Sisley are gathering information about the Shadows and the Capital.
Lynne is relying the information to everyone, keeping everyone in the loop.
Richard is guarding the princess in my absence.
Maggie has been discovered by the Shadows. She is the next target.
The other princes are still on exile.
We need alies, lots of alies or better yet, I need to find the Highest Prince if he's out there, somewhere.

At least, in all of these, one thing is certain. The Princess is safe.
That's all that matters right now.

I heard the thunder roll outside in the nightsky. The wind is restless. They are whispering desperately.

Maggie..

As if on cue. Francois rushes inside my room. One look on his face and I knew. Maggie is gone.

"You can't stay here, evacuate the entire household." I place my blade back to its sheath.

I pulled on my coat, expertly hiding my weapons from prying eyes of the humans.
"I'm coming with you." He said, but I politely declined.
"No. I need you to do something for me and you are the only one I can trust."

Francois knows enough not to oppose my decisions. I know how he wanted to help but I can handle the situation just fine. I trust him to do this favor for me. He is the only one I can count on right now.

Maggie's POV

I ran into the middle of the night. Barefoot and wet. The cold rain battered my already bruised skin.

I am bleeding.

Pero determinado ako. Hindi ko alam kung ano ang tumutulak sa akin. Marahil ang kagustuhan kong makita muli si Craig kaya kusang humahakbang ang mga paa ko patungo sa kanya.
