Jason kept looking over his shoulder back towards the beach, and it was getting on Tori's nerves.

"Your girlfriend will be fine," Tori said rolling her eyes.

"Girlfriend...uh...do you mean Piper?" Jason asked her rubbing the back of his neck.

"What so she's not your girlfriend?" She asked raising her eyebrows in disbelief. The glare Piper gave her earlier made it seem like she's dating.

"No she's just a friend...I think," he said.

"You think?"

"It's not like I can remember anything."

After a few minutes of silence Jason finally asked, "Who is Chiron?"

"He's the camp director here," Tori answered as she played with beads on her necklace.

Both Tori and Annabeth had nine clay beads on their necklaces, representing the nine summers they had successfully finished. Tori fingers naturally grabbed towards the fifth bead on her necklace. It was the solid black one with a turquoise trident, the year that her brother came into her life. Jason then noticed her clay bead necklace and of course was curious, as he had seen most campers with necklaces all with different amount of beads.

"What does your necklace mean?" Jason asked pointing towards the clay beads, and once again breaking the silence.

"It's represents the amount of summers I have successfully completed," she responded.

"So nine means-"

"Nine summers."

"Why are they all different then?" he asks.

"They each represents something important or significant that happened during the summer," Tori says.

"What happened that summer," Jason asked as gestures towards the one between her thumb and index finger.

"It was the summer Percy came to camp," Tori says her voice cracking a little. Jason noticing that she was staring to get upset immediately changes the subject.

"So what happened with Drew-"

"Yeah sorry if I freaked you out," Tori says cutting him off, "it's just she hit some nerves, and one of the downsides of having Poseidon as your father is you inherit his very short temper."

"I thought it was kinda admirable," Jason admitted causing Tori to look up at him in confusion.

"Really, why?"

"You stood up for Piper, even though you hardly know her. And you held your own when she insulted you, mind you, I thought you were going to drown us all with that wall of water."

His response made Tori give him a small laugh.

"Yeah if decide you want to friends with me, you might want to consider that little fact that one of these days your going to be drenched by water," she said giving him a smile.

"I'll keep that in mind," Jason said smiling back at her.

"I'm normally not that bad," Tori says quietly but still so Jason can hear her, "It's just...recently everything has been so fucking chaotic that I'm so, so...tense"

"It's understandable, someone important to you just disappeared. No one should expect you to be normal and happy," Jason tells her.

"That's the thing though, after this summer and what happened in the war-"

"War?"

"I'll explain later. It's just everyone looks up to me and trying to stay strong for everyone, especially Annabeth, it's exhausting," she tells him. Tori has no idea why she's telling Jason all of this, but he just seemed like the type of person that wouldn't judge her.
