After taking her shower, Tori changed into a simple camp shirt paired with some ripped mom jeans. She willed her hair dry, and almost immediately her hair was styled into two dutch braids, thanks to Aphrodite. No matter how much she tried to unstyle it, Tori's hair would always returned to the styled hairdo. She groaned in frustration and just decided to leave it.
It was exactly 5:39 a.m. when the door to Cabin Three swung open. Entering was a very tired looking—evident by the bag under her eyes— Annabeth.
"Well good morning to you too," Tori said.
"Sorry, I just couldn't sleep," Annabeth smiled sheepishly.
"You're fine Annie, I've been up since 5:00," Tori smiled, "why are you here?"
"Well...do you remember when we were younger and when one of us couldn't sleep we would spend time in each other's cabin," Annabeth said and Tori nodded her head.
Back when the girls first got to camp, they first really started experiencing demigod nightmares. When Tori first experienced one, she immediately ran to the Athena Cabin to get Annabeth. The, then, two young girls ran to Hermes Cabin to wake up Luke. The trio ended up back in Cabin Three and Tori made both of them spend the night. This went on for several years. After a while, Luke stopped joining, but it wasn't an uncommon thing when there was a knock at either the Athena or Poseidon cabin in the middle of the night. As the years went on visiting each other's cabin became far and few, but there was a rarity it did happen.
"Did you have a nightmare?" Tori asked.
Annabeth shook her head and went to sit on Percy's bed. She grabbed one of his pillows and wrapped her arms around it. "No, I just can't stop worrying about you and Percy."
Tori sighed, "Are you mad that I can't come with you?"
"Of course not," Annabeth said immediately, "you have no choice but to go."
"Just so you know, this is not my first to go on another quest," Tori admitted, "I'd much rather go searching with you."
"I know," Annabeth replied.
"Can you help me pack?" Tori asked and Annabeth nodded her head.
The girls spent the next hour making sure Tori had everything she needed. She was fully prepared with food, water, ambrosia and nectar, first aid kit, some money and drachmas.
"Hey I never asked, how did the tour with Piper go?" Tori asked, "Well besides the fact that she passed out."
Annabeth explained how she showed Piper around camp. How Piper picked out Helen of Troy's dagger, Katoptris, as her weapon. How she had to comfort the daughter of Aphrodite after she learned that her relationship with Jason was a trick of the mist. And finally how they meet up with Rachel in Hera's cabin.
"Wow that's a lot," Tori said once Annabeth finished explaining.
"Yeah," Annabeth nodded, "Are you okay?"
"What do you mean?"
"Tori, you where just claimed again. This is also your first quest without Percy, Grover, and I." Annabeth said and Tori sighed.
"Annie, I can't stop about what has already happened. Aphrodite claimed me, and I can't do anything about it. Like this quest, I have to go and I have no choice. No matter how much I'd rather go searching with you, I have a job to do. Yeah it'll be different, but I'll manage." Tori said.
"It's just weird-"
"What's weird?"- Tori said cutting off Annabeth.
"In the prophecy, the referred to Jason, Piper, and Leo based of their parents. You know, child of lighting, dove, and forge," Annabeth explained.
