18 | His Chase

Mabel stares at her reflection in the mirror. She twirls to see how the light shade of purple sweatshirt looks on her.

"It's looking good," She smiles at her mom who stood at the bedroom door and kept looking at Mabel with an adores in her eyes. Marina strolls till her daughter, Mabel pulls her mom into a warm hug, "Thank you and I missed you!"

"I missed you too honey," Marina parts, "Breakfast is ready, hurry up."

Mabel hears her mom calling out Ryan and the guy never gets up early.

She lifts her bag to leave for the school but before stepping any way ahead, she just checks one more time in the mirror, her hair is tied in a perfect ponytail. Wasn't I being much concerned about my looks today?

Zoe calls out once Mabel was done with her breakfast, John embraced her into a hug after he paused from doing yoga, watching it from YouTube. "Dad, you should join yoga classes, don't do it on your own."

He smiles, "I took a few sessions in Florida with your uncle."

Ryan flings from upstairs in his old T-shirt and jeans. His bed hair was styled in all directions, he grabs some bread, kisses Marina on her cheeks as she hands him his lunch. He jumps to the front door, "Kin we are getting late!"

"I can see that." Mabel rolls her eyes.

He squints his hazel eyes, "Is something special today... You look like a human being."

"Oh, thanks but when are you coming out from your zoo look!" She counters pointing to his blonde hair.

He chuckles in defeat, brushes his hair, and calls over strolling outside, "Have a good day, uncle John!"

John smile rises at his son, "You too bud!"

Though Mabel was happy knowing that her house was again filled with cherish.

When she joins Zoe in her car, she finds Ryan and Carlos seated backseat. Mabel didn't say anything other than greets because she was in a good mood and don't wanna spoil it by asking them anything to which they would reply with stupidity.

Carlos smiles from the backseat, "Mabel. Is something special today?"

She laughs, her cheeks flaming, "No! I didn't even put any makeup on."

Ryan snorts a laugh, "Look carefully, Carl. She's still that ass face."

Mabel glares at him, "See the shit face is talking."

Carlos interrupts, laughing, "Can you both just stop your cousin war!"

Zoe drives off hindering her laugh, "Mabel, Are you free after school can we just hang out at our usual?"

She pauses. Skyler was going to pick me up after school.

Zoe smiles, "No worries just let me know when you are free."

Mabel has been spending less time with her lately, she might be having some unusual thoughts to share. If not her then she has many to do so, Mabel answers, "Let's hang out after school." And definitely, Zoe was prior to Skyler.

Zoe smiles widely, "That's my girl!"

Mabel reaches to her classroom and the very first thing she finds, Gray smirking at her. There was something wrong with Skyler's friends she wondered.

And so she takes a seat far from him.

She doesn't wanna go near him or else she'll be receiving another threat.
