"...My Mabel..." Just a spoken phrase, he meant nothing, Mabel thought.
Skyler stands across her, gripping lightly over her wrist with his long fingers. The cold metal ring of his rest against her skin.
Black long-sleeves of his T-shirt rolled till his elbows. His pierced left ear speaks louder about his ferocious persona.
It won't be the truth if Mabel tells, this is the first time She's confronting Skyler Foster and it would be a lie if she tells she noticed him today for the first time.
They both live behind these same walls. How can she tell, this idiotic person never existed in her brain. His name is said with a fond in this school whereas her name is just known by a few students and teachers.
She twitches away from his soft grip. His glistening eyes soothe within her line of gaze. His ocean-crystal eyes are mesmerizing but who knows if they reflecting an illusion and there's nothing really special about it.
Skyler averts to see his moron friends and within that indescribable condition of Mabel's brain which tries to fire a correct sentence at him, Zoe pulls her away and flees to their classroom. She didn't allow them to say even a word but Mabel heard a few of them chuckling behind.
"What was that?" Zoe asks as she stands across Mabel beside the classroom door.
"What was what?" Mabel speaks quietly, jolting herself away from her thoughts.
"You look extremely affected by some sort of plague!!"
She scornfully taps her feet, "Didn't you see how badly they were going to torture us!"
"They were not!!" Zoe says, making a cross mark in the air.
"Dylan is after you, Zoe! Do you think he won't bother you much!!!"
"Calm down...." Zoe performs breathing exercises then continues, "No one is doing anything... I'm gonna tell Dylan straightforward with all my guts that I'm not interested in him and he better leaves my way!" Her hands keep moving accordingly to her words.
Mabel nods after listening to her best friend but eventually, her mind also says that these boys won't leave Zoe so easily which alarms her that somehow She's too going to get along into it.
According to Mabel, Lunchbreak is the best time for every human. Food is another loyal friend to us. She puts her tray filled with a sandwich and a juice box on the corner deserted table of their cafeteria. Waiting for Zoe to appear but she thought Zoe must be busy with her drama club friends. Scrolling down her feeds only gets boring and boring while munching the food and sipping the juice down the throat.
"Hey... Mabel!" This familiar voice calling her name isn't the best thing happening to her since morning.
She turns to squint at this horrible person however Skyler is already settled on the adjacent chair beside her, just a few inches away.
"Mabel is busy--You cannot talk to her." She says to him pointing at herself and gets back to her scrolling job. She perceives his scent as he edges closer to her.
Mabel shoots her blazing glare at him he smiles widely. He rests his forearm on the surface of the table and plays with his finger ring by removing it then wearing it again on his index finger, "Your sandwich looks tasty."
"Thanks." She leans away from him and tries to shift her chair a little aside.
"Can I get a bite?" He asks.
She looks confused.
He smiles.
Silence.
Awkward.
