Where I belong

We've been together for 8 months already but I still feel something's missing.

Na para bang hindi ko kilala ng 100% ang boyfriend ko kasi he chooses to show only 50% of him.

Until one day, a mutual friend of ours told me about him and his ex. I finally understand why he was acting like that.

I wanted to hear the whole story from him mismo kaya kinausap ko siya. At first, he was a bit hesitant pero napapayag ko rin siya.

"Eira and I were supposed to get married. But 2 months before the wedding, she died while trying to save me from a car accident." His eyes were full of sadness and seemed like asking if he should continue pa kaya I nod.

"We got into a car accident, ako ung driver. She helped me na makalabas ng car because I was badly injured. Nang mailabas na niya ako, I did something na hanggang ngayon pinagsisisihan ko pa rin. I told her na naiwan sa sasakyan ung wedding ring namin kaya binalikan niya and then suddenly the car exploded." His eyes start to get watery, I know he's about to cry na.

"We both died that day, but only one of us stopped breathing." Dagdag niya na tuluyan nang tumulo ang luha niya.

If he died with her, what's left for me then? So the person who's with me is only a ghost of what they both have left? He's still obviously stuck in their past love.

"No matter how hard I try to forget, there's always a glimpse of her I'd see in everything I do. Kahit sa'yo Ilianna, I'm really sorry pero nakikita ko si Eira sa'yo that's why I pursued you." My hands started to tremble after hearing everything.

Ang sakit-sakit. That means nandito ako kasi nakikita niya sa akin ang babaeng minahal niya dati — or maybe until now.

"Andrei, this will never work if you're still seeing fragments from your past lover while looking at my eyes." Umiiyak na ako habang nakatingin sa mga mata niyang nalulunod sa lungkot.

"I'm sorry." Yun lang ang nasabi niya at niyakap nalang ako.

I'm too scared to leave, too drained to stay. And the fact that if I walk away I know you'll let me, hurt me more.
