Chapter 2: Nice to see you again

Yashiro's POV
I opened the door to my classroom. "Good morning!" "Morning, Nene-Chan!", Aoi said with a smile. I smiled back and walked over to her. "So? Is [Y/N]-" "Still not back." "Really? She has been sick since last Friday...and it's already Tuesday..I'm getting worried.." "Yeah..me too.." "Oh, I know! How about we visit her?" "That might've been a great idea, but she never really told us where she lives." "Oh..right.." At that moment the school bell rung, the teacher came in and the lesson started.

As the bell rang for the last time for the day, I got up and apologised to Aoi again for not walking with her home. "It's alright, Nene-Chan! You don't always have to apologise. I got used to it already." "Really? Thank you, Aoi!" "By the way, speaking of apologising. [Y/N] apologised to me on the day before she got sick too!" "Wait, Really? For what did she apologised?" "She couldn't walk home with me." "What? Why's that?" "She seemed to have run to the third floor or something, I guess. She was really in a hurry." Third floor??? Isn't that where Hanako-Kun is???? Come to think of it...after that Thursday...he did kind of act strangely the few days... I'll have go talk to Hanako-Kun about this immediately! "Well, have a nice day, Nene-Chan!", Aoi said as she patted my shoulder and left the room.

Alright! Let's do this! I quickly ran to Hanako-Kun's Place. Luckily, he was already waiting there, but he still had that weird face expression ever since that day... I really wonder what he's thinking about...wait! I didn't come here to stare at Hanako-Kun! I came here to talk about [Y/N]! Maybe he saw her? Maybe he even knows why she's sick! I stepped in. "Hanako-Kun!" He quickly snapped out of that trance and looked at me with a smile on his face. "Ah, back to cleaning, Yashiro?" "...yep..but also!" "Hm?"

"Aoi said that a friend of mine might've went here last Thursday! Did you see anyone?" "Hm...well, I did see a girl with the same uniform staring at us and then running away." That must've been her! But..how can she see Hanako? There's no way that she could've seen him! I also don't know if she really went here..though..Hanako did see her...This is all so confusing! "Why do you ask?" "Well..ever since that day she didn't come to school...do you think something happened to her??" "Probably not. She couldn't see me, so it's okay...." "Hanako-kun...that doesn't sound convincing at all." "Wha-?" "You don't even seem sure if she can see you or not." "Well...truth is...as soon as I noticed her, she ran away...so I'm not hundred percent sure if she can or cannot see me.." Wait...if even Hanako-kun though so...maybe she actually saw him!! "A-and...why is she now missing?? It's almost been a week!" "Hm...well, what would your reaction be, if you were her? Would you just come to school the next day like usual and act how you usually act like every day after seeing a ghost the day before?" "Ah-...no..b-but! She couldn't have needed almost a week to calm herself down!" "Looks like she actually does...now..let's start with the cleaning!" "Aw..."

[The next day]

I opened the door to the classroom again. "Good Morning!" "Good Morning, Nene-Chan!" "Morning, Aoi!" "Guess what, Nene-chan!" "What?" "[Y/N]-chan finally came back!" "Wha- really??" "Yes." "Well, where is she?" "At her seat. Where else?" Right at that moment, I glanced at her seat and she really was sitting there. But she somehow seemed different..somehow..emotionless or something. Right now, all she did was staring out of the window at the cloudless sky. "Aoi...don't you think that something seems of about her?" "I don't know what you're talking about." Then am I the only one who sees that? "But you might as well greet her, Nene-chan." "Right!" I then walked towards her. "Morning, [Y/N]!" "Huh? Oh..h-hey, Yashiro! G-good morning!" "Are you alright?" "Huh? Of course I am. Why do ask?.." "Well..we've become pretty close friends over the last few weeks and you didn't stutter ever since." "O-oh..? Is that so? I didn't notice..!" "Your voice sounds kind of nervous too." "D-does it?"

[Y/N]'s POV
"Are you alright? You didn't come to school for almost a week." How could I? One of my best and closest friends was standing next to a ghost and even smiled sweetly at him! But I can't just tell her that.. How would she react, if she knew that I followed her? I didn't really respect her privacy... "So?", she asked. "U-um..well..." Should I lie? Or should I tell the truth? "The thing is... I saw something...scary and couldn't take it very well..." "Oh?...Could I talk to you after school?" "Wha?....s-s-sure...but why do you want to talk?" "There are a few things, I don't understand and I wanted to discuss them with you." "R-really.....so..where will we...meet..." I hope she doesn't mean at that place.... "At the girls bathroom on the third floor." "What..? Why don't we just discuss it now? Or at least...in this roo-" And just at that moment, the school bell rang and the lesson begann a few minutes. "Well, see you." "W-wait!...." Yashiro already went to her seat and couldn't hear me.

The school bell finally rang for the last time. The first thing I saw was Yashiro rushing over to me. "So? Are you ready? Let's go!" Was she checking on me so I can't flee or something? That was kind of weird. As we were only a few inches away from the bathroom that I'd rather not saw, someone called Yashiro. "Hey! Yashiro! It's an emergency! All members of the gardening club have to come!" "O-oh..really?" "Yes! Come on!" "I-..okay! I'm coming!" Wait. She's going to leave?? Right now?? "Hey, [Y/N]?" "Yes?" "Could you wait for me in there?" "The bathroom..?" "Yes. Don't worry. I doubt that it will take very long." She then smiled and waved at me while quickly running after the person who called her. Now what? Do I really have to go in there? Well... I don't want to be even close to this room, but... I don't want to just walk away...Yasuhiro is my friend, so... I should probably wait for her...in there... And so I stepped into the bathroom and waited. He's not here. Everything is okay. He's not here. I tried to calm myself as I suddenly heard a voice saying...

"Nice to see you again.."
