Chapter 8: With me

How did this get on my finger? I'm pretty sure that I summoned some weird blades with this ring too... I gently touch it, but my heads suddenly starts to hurt. W-what is going on??

"We'll be best friends forever! These rings will be proof of our promise!"

"So..don't cry [Y/N]...We'll meet again someday for sure!"

Who is that?

"I'm going to miss you...-kun"

Isn't that my voice...? But who...am I talking to..? ..And...why am I crying..?

"I'll treasure this ring until we meet again! I promise that we'll meet again!"
"Then I promise to welcome you with open arms, when that happens! No matter how much you change, I'm going to recognize you then!"
"You better keep your promise!"
"Just who do you think I am? Of course I will!"

My headache is starting to fade, but my consciousness also started fading. "[Y/N]! Hey! [Y/N]!!" My eyes immediately opened. The next thing I saw was Hanako-Kun's face. I also noticed that I was lying on the floor, even though I remember leaning against a rock. "Phew..You've finally woken up.." Huh? "Did something happen?" "You had some kind of nightmare, it seems. You were crying and talking in your sleep and all that." W-What?? I did something that embarrassing in front of a boy?!

"You've rested enough now, right?", he asked as he got up. I got up myself as I gave him a quick nod. We then started to continue walking into a direction, where Yashiro and Kosuke-Kun hopefully are. This time we only walked. Thank god, he didn't make me run again! Though...the awkward silence is back.. I really am quite unsociable, aren't I.. Wait a second... Now that I think about it... If I sleep-talked, then I probably must've said something to make that guy wake me up.. "Say... What did I say in my sleep..?" "You're better off not knowing..", he said as he held back his laughter. I knew it!! I definitely said something embarrassing..! Now I really want to know, but I fear that if I asked he would tease me about it...!! I would probably never hear the end of it... Argh!! This is so frustrating!!

Hanako-Kun's POV
I silently watch [Y/N] tear herself apart, wondering about what she maybe could've said, while we walk together. I admit, it's really funny to watch, but I really didn't lie when I said that she was better off not knowing.

"P-Please...don't go...Kosuke-Kun..."

Did she know Kosuke after all and just didn't want to tell us? I don't want to jump into conclusions like last time, since we talked about that earlier already. I'll try to find out about it, when we find Yashiro and Kouske. For now, what should I do? The atmosphere between us isn't really awkward or anything, but we aren't really saying anything either.

"Kya...!" That surprised me. She screamed out of nowhere and started clinging onto my arm. A small blush creeped unto my face. Is it wrong for me to enjoy this? "What's the matter, [Y/N]?" She looked really pale. "T-There...something moved over..there..!", she stuttered while she pointed at something moving behind a rock. This cave is really dark. It gets darker the more we walk this path. I can't see it clearly, but there's definitely something moving there. Something small. "Do you want me to check it out?", I ask while chuckling lightly. "I'm not sure, if it's a good idea to separate even a little in place like this, b-but..that t-thing over there could be d-dangerous..!" I guess that is true. "Do you want to go together then?" She got even paler in that moment, but nodded a few minutes after thinking about it.

With both our arms linked, we slowly walk towards whatever was moving behind the rock. To our surprise a Mokke jumped out before we got close enough to check ourselves. We then unlinked our arms. "W-what is that??", [Y/N] asked. "It's just a Mokke. Explaining what exactly they are would take too long right now and since we don't have much time, I'll tell you later. They're harmless in general." "R-really?" [Y/N] seemed to have gone from being scared of it to finding it cute. The way she stares at it says it all. "How did such a cute rabbit-thingy get into such a creepy place?" "First of all, this 'rabbit-thingy' is called Mokke."

"Yeah, yeah, okay.." She totally doesn't care. "And second, it's also a supernatural being." [Y/N] immediately jumped back when she heard the word 'supernatural'. What a funny and cute reaction. "T-Tell me something like that sooner next time..." "What did you thought it was? Or did you really just think it was a rabbit-thingy?" "S-Shut up.." She must be embarrassed. Teasing her is more fun than I thought. "Hey...Hanako-Kun...you'll stay with me, right?"

Yashiro's POV
Kosuke-Kun and I have been walking around for a while now. His facial expression, grip and pace make it seem like he knows the exit, but how can he be so sure? I really wonder about that.. Soon, we see a hole that brings us back into that creepy horror forest with a beautiful night sky. "Kosuke-Kun? Is it really safe to go out there again..?" "Are you saying that you would rather remain here?" "No.."

What's with that cold reply? I know that he didn't talk much from the beginning, but I don't think that he was like that. He seems weirder and weirder with every new word he says.. I'm somehow starting to get this uneasy feeling when I'm with him now too.. Just what is it that makes him feel so strange? "When you get out of this cave, follow the path that you'll see then. That'll be how you get back.", he said emotionless. "What? But what about you, Hanako-Kun and [Y/N]?" "When I find your friend, I'll sent him back to where he belongs too.. But.." Hey.. What is he saying..?

"[Y/N] will stay here...with me.."
