Chapter 5

After the meeting Nova was glued to her seat, as teens and children came up to thank Max. When everyone had cleared out Nova stood up and walked over to Max pulling him into a hug. He was shocked at first till Nova thanked him.

The next week was filled with lots of shopping, everyday after school instead of going to the office Nova would go shopping for different things to fill the new room. Nova dropped the last bag off to the women organizing the room, which included her mother, "Thank you Nova."

Nova yawn and headed all the way up to her room, sitting at her desk she pulled out the homework she had for the weekend to start it. Max looked into Nova's open door to ask her if she was ready for a run, but when he looked in she was laying on her textbook at her desk sound asleep. Carefully he stepped in he picked her up, and she curled into his chest instantly. Gently placing her on the bed, he went to pull away but she held on tight. Sighing to himself he tried to pry her hands off of him, when he finally did her eyes opened, "I was only moving you into your bed," Nova nodded putting her head back down.

He was about to walk out her door, "Max you can just stay in here with me if you want, I know you come in here 100 times a night."

He turned around and walked back to her bed pulling over her desk chair, "You can lay down next to me idiot."

He chuckled and jumped in next to her, "Why are you doing this?"

Nova turned to look at him, "Every time you come in here to check on me I wake up," she closed her eyes and fell back asleep.

When she woke up in the morning she was shocked to still see that Max was in her bed sound asleep. She carefully got up and decided to use the bathroom in the main living area, when she got out of the bathroom when she saw Riley sitting on the couch sipping her tea and reading a book. Nova felt guilty, "I'm sorry about last night. I don't know why I asked him to stay. It won't happen again."

Riley looked up from her book confused, "What are you talking about dear?"

Nova pointed to her room, "Max slept in my room last night?"

Riley shut her book and placed it on the coffee table, "Has he not been sleeping in your room since I've been gone?"

Nova turned around and looked back at her door then to Riley, "No, last night was the first night. Is there something I am missing here?"

Just then Max came out of her room, "Good morning ladies."

Riley stood up, "Max, did you lie to me about where you sleep at night?"

Max nodded, "I've been in the spare room since you got back. I know you wanted me to try and I did but it upset Nova and she asked me not to be in her bed again without her permission. I did not want you to be upset with me that I didn't try hard enough."

Nova slowly backed up, tears lining her eyes, "I didn't, I didn't mean for you guys to fight because of me. Please. I'm sorry." Nova breathing got heavier as she started to panic.

Max reached out to her but she backed away, her wolf was distraught and confused about what was happening, the Alpha and Luna were fighting because of her. Nova continued to cry as she ran out of the room and through the house, she ran all the flights of stairs but when she got to the bottom she hit a hard chest. She looked up to see Kyle, "Nova, what's wrong? What happened?" She didn't say anything she just threw herself into his arms, "Don't let him near me please don't let him near me." Nova held on to Kyle for dear life as Max and Riley both came down the stairs. Nova cried harder and flinched when Max reached out to grab her.

"MINE!" roughly Nova was ripped off of Kyle and pulled into Max's chest.

"NO! Kyle help please! Mom! Dad! HELP!" Nova was not calming down as her wolf went into distress even with the touch of her mate. Riley was trying to get Max to let go as people started to crowd around. Tate pushed through the crowd, as soon as Nova saw his she reached for him, "Help! Please help me!"
