Chapter 8

Nova ran her hands over the dress, and turned to Jazz, "Well this is it, this is what has been hiding in your closet."

Jazz gasped, "You look stunning. This is the first time I am seeing you in a week, I mean you finally let go of Max."

Nova laughed, "I'm sorry about that. But you will understand in a couple months. And then I'll be the one laughing, now can you unzip this?"

Nova slipped out of the dress, and placed it carefully back in the bag. Nova got dressed and walked back into Jazz's room, "So I'll be home in a few days. Text me everyday!" Nova hugged Jazz tightly.

Walking to her parents room she knocked on the door, her mom opened it a second later, "Hey Nova, come in." Stepping into the room she placed the dress down, "So I take it you aren't rejecting him?"

Nova looked down before meeting her mom's eye, "I don't want to. But I don't want Riley to be hurt either," Nova looked over at her dress, "I just hope he will like my dress."

Nova's mom followed her eyes to the dress, "Can I see it? Before you go?" Nova nodded before standing and walking over to her old room.

Slipping out of her clothes, she took the dress out and stepped into it, "Come zip it up mom."

Her mom stepped in Nova slowly turned and her mom gasped, "Honey, you look beautiful," she had tears in her eyes, "you really are growing up."

Nova placed her dress by her suitcase, and sighed really missing Max. Skipping out of the room she headed to the office, Max smiled up at her, "What are you up to little mate?"

She came around and stood in front of him reaching for his hands, "I finished packing, can we go to the library? Before we leave in the morning?"

Max gave her his hands and sighed, "Fine but after lunch I need to be in here getting work done."

Nova nodded and pulled him out of the room, "You got a deal, it's your turn to pick and read today," Max groaned and opened the car door for Nova.

Nova laughed, "That's definitely not what it says."

Max closed the book and put it down. Looking down at Nova who was sitting on the floor by his feet, "Let's go get lunch now." Nova nodded but didn't move.

Max looked down at her, "What's wrong?"

Looking around she started playing with the bottom of her shirt, "My wolf has guilt for what we are doing to Riley. I mean I talked to her a few days ago and she said that she was happy but my wolf grew up with her as our Luna. I still don't know if we are doing the right thing."

"Nova are you... are you still thinking about rejecting us?" Nova stood up and backed away from Max not saying a word. She opened her mouth after a minute but she didn't know what to say, so she quickly closed it.

"I thought... I thought you were accepting our mate bond. Accepting me."

Max stood up and walked towards Nova holding a hand out to her, her wolf immediately pushing her to place her hand in his, "I am but part of me doesn't. It's like there is something holding me back. Like my wolf knows something I don't."

Max nodded and pulled her into a hug, "I hope we can figure out what that is. I don't want you to reject us."

Nova pulled away from the hug just enough to look up at Max, "We should go eat that way you can get back to work," Max nodded and they headed out of the library.

"Why do we have to go a day early?"

Max finished chewing and looked up, "Nolan didn't say but he must have a reason. Probably wants to speak to you about everything," Nova nodded and took another bite of her lunch. When they had both finished, Max paid and they headed out to the car. They got back to the pack house and Nova got out of the car.
