On another day, he had gone down the stairs feeling safe. As he was moving towards the library to see if there were any traces left of the bloodstain, suddenly from a dark corner two figures emerged shouting wildly. The ghost, in fear fled towards the staircase but found Washington Otis there, waiting for him with the big garden syringe.
He was surrounded by the enemies. Feeling scared, he vanished into the big iron stove. Fortunately, it was not lit.
The ghost had to make his way through the flues and chimney. At last he reached his room in a terrible state of dirt, disorder and despair. The ghost did not appear for several nights. The Otis family thought that the ghost had left.
But he was very much there.
