Going down all of those stairs was a pain. You wouldn't wish it on anybody, especially not for what you got in turn...

"What would a school even need with something like this?" The gamergirl asked.

"Right?" Nagito stared down into the dark abyss with mild interest and continued. "Well, my guess is that someone's doing something they really don't want anyone else to know about." You looked at Nagito for a while, keeping your hand on the wall and feeling your way down the stairs as you did. "Yeah, but what would a school need to keep secret?"

The boy smiled. "Could be anything. Human experimentation?" He answered with an unsettling look on his face.

"Nagito... Don't put us on edge like that... Please." You mumbled lightly. You could feel a dull ache in your head as you reached the bottom of the stairs and down the hall.

"Are you okay, (Y/n)?" Nagito attempted putting his hand on your shoulder before he paused, and with a bit of a flinch, he let his hand fall back to his side. "Sorry, I understand you still might not want to be around me, right?"

You paused and smiled at him, approaching a door and preparing to open it. "Thank you, Ko-chan. I might still be a little scared of you... but I'm happy with you doing what you want as long as it doesn't hurt anyone. So don't be afraid to touch me ok? I wouldn't spare a second thought to hug you even now after all." You quickly looked away without giving him a thought to answer your words. Chiaki giggled lightly. There was a silver lining to this situation, just a little.

On the other hand, when you opened the door things changed again. A room littered with posters of various anime games and shows. The ambiance of the room somehow sending a noticeable chill down your spine. You looked ahead with your friends as they stared into the far center of the room. A blonde boy slowly turned around in a swivel chair as he heard you three enter. Your breath hitched. What was the deal with this guy...?

"Mitarai- Is that you? You've lost weight..." Chiaki's voice faded out as Mitarai's face twisted into a look of true fear- and guilt.

"I didn't do anything- You've gotta believe me..."

"Wha..?"

He cut himself off, "I-I-I just... w-wanted to make a-anime...! Please- I didn't know!! I don't wanna hurt people...!!!"

You looked at Chiaki and Nagito. They shared nearly the same expression of confusion and pity. Then your eyes panned to your left as the door opened and a familiar voice rang out. "Well there's our mini Miazaki! How's it goin? Had your meals yet?"

"Enoshima-san..." You whispered, Nagito looking at you curiously for a second. The white haired boy stepped ahead of you both, and it almost seemed like he was protecting you. "Um, what's going on here?" He asked when after donning his carefree look.

"And who are you? Better yet, how does an outsider like you know about this place?" She walked around to the other side of the room.

"Luck of the draw." The pale boy answered.

"Well that's fascinating."

This continued for a bit. Nagito talking about his luck, and the blonde girl voicing her disdain. Then her words quickly grasped towards a more threatening nuance.

"You'll never be in a position to tell anyone where that luck brought you."

Nagito spoke up again, this time about Junko's sister. He said she wouldn't be here for backup, but you and Chiaki didn't get it. Just what did he know, and what had he been doing when no one else watched...?

"So my little horror show, what do you know?"

"Honestly, not much." Nagito smiled. "But I'm learning."
