Chapter 15-You're cheating

Penelope's Point Of View:

"No! You can't do that! You're cheating!"

"What? I'm not cheating at all. You just don't know the rules."

"Dad! Clifford is cheating!"

Dad came over and sighed and shook his head with a smile.

"Clifford,what have you done now?"

"I haven't done anything!"

"Yes,you have!"

"No,you just suck at this game."

"Says who?"

"I said!"

"Okay! Okay! Stop it!"

I sighed and shut my mouth.

"Let's not play this game anymore."

"What? N-" Calvin said.

"Clifford."

I quietly laughed at him. Even though he was 23,he was childish. Just like mom.

"Uhm dad?"

"Hm?"

"Can I call mom?"

"Ofcourse,the phone is right there."

I smiled and took the phone in my hand.

After I dialed moms number I waited for her to pick up.

"Hello?"

"Mom?"

"Penelope! Is it you?"

"Yes,it's me mom."

"My princess! Where are you? As soon as Phoebe informed me that you were gone I contacted the police!"

"Why haven't you told me about my real dad?"

"..what are you talking about,honey?"

"My real dad."

"......"

"I've already met him,you know. He's really nice. I also had a big brother, which I ofcourse didn't know about either."

"Honey,I'm so sorry! J-just tell me where you are a-and we'll work this out."

"Mom-"

"Clifford! Penelope! Get out of here!" Suddenly someone shot at the window and Calvin took my hand.

"Don't take the back door! The house is surrounded."

Clifford sighed and took out a gun out of nowhere and took my hand to run upstairs.

"Clifford,what's happening?"

"We're getting attacked."

"What?! What are we going to do?! Let's run."

"It's Jason fucking McCann's gang we're talking about."

"What? Jason McCann?"

"Yes."

I wiggled my hand out of his and ran downstairs and back to the living room.

As I ran downstairs I heard dad's voice and Jason's. He's here!

"Jason!" Before anyone could stop me, I ran into Jason's arms.

"Penelope? Gosh,I've missed you so much."

A few tears escaped my eyes and ran down my cheeks. Jason inhaled my scent as he hide his face in my neck. Before I could said anything else,I was dragged back by dad.

"Penelope,why aren't you with your brother?" He said angrily.

"Can we please have a calm conversation without killing each other ? And guns?"

"No." Both of them said. By both I mean Jason and dad.

"Well you guys agreed with each other on that one."

"You know this guy?" Dad looked at me and pointed his gun down.

"Yes,if you let me explain this could've been so much easier!" I plopped down at the sofa and crossed my arms over my chest.

"Who's this to you,princess?" Jason also pointed his gun down and so did the guys that were behind him.

"Dad,don't you have a office where we can talk?" Even though I wasn't looking at Jason,I knew that he was staring at me with wide eyes.

"Do you really trust him,pumpkin?"
I nodded and sighed.
Dad started to walk so I take it as a 'yes'. He let us in in his office and closed the door.

"Well,explain."

"I think I want him to meet Cara first." I whispered to Jason. He looked at me with a confused expression.

"Are you out of your mind? I will not let him in my house."

"Jason,please? He won't do anything,I promise. Just trust me?"

He sighed and nodded.

"Well,Penelope convinced me that you should meet Cara first,and she's at my house so I guess you're coming with us."

"Where's Clifford?"

"My boys got him downstairs,unharmed."

"Penelope?" I turned to look back at dad and nodded.

"Since you invited me over,I guess I'll take it."

"Then let's go!"

I went behind dad's desk and took his large hand in mine and dragged him downstairs with Jason behind.
