It's been a few months since Sam and her friends came to Solaria, as well as her and Thelma getting together. Over that time the girls got stronger and stronger, both magically and physically. Each of them learning and mastering a powerful spell, one after another.
"Solid script: Shadow wolfs"
"Firefly glow"
Sams' light attack made the wolfs Thelma created disappear. The two were sparing while their trainers and friends watched from the side. Thelma made a low hum as she watched her wolfs vanish, thinking of a spell.
"Sold script: Fire Phoenix" Thelma summoned a giant phoenix made of fire and sent it at Sam.
"Radiant shell" a glowing shield appeared around her. The phoenix hit the shell then disappeared, leaving her unharmed. Before Thelma could cast another attack spell, Sam did one of her own, one she recently learned.
"Sun beam" Thelma didn't react fast enough and the spell hit her square in the chest, knocking her on her butt.
"Very good Sam, you as well Thelma" Diamond said as Sam asked Thelma if she was okay, "Yeah I'm good".
"You both have been able to use pretty difficult spells so soon after learning them, well done" Diamond praised the two. They nodded their thanks, then swapped with Lizzy and Jordan. They watched the two spar for about 15 minutes before they hit each other with a spell, knocking the other to the ground.
"Izzy, why don't you spar with Sam next" Izzys' trainer, a 300 year old unicorn stallion named Jóse, said as Lizzy and Jordan came back over.
"Yeah, sure" Izzy was hesitant to fight Sam. She and Thelma are the strongest, magically, amongst the five of them.
"Don't worry Izzy, you'll be fine" Sam pat Izzy on her back with her wing. That didn't help her feel any better. Naturally, both Lightheart sisters are empaths -meaning they could both read and alter emotions- but they've been learning different magically for the past 1.5 years, even before they came to Solaria. Lizzy:Weather magic and Izzy:Water magic. Izzy took a deep breath, let it out, then stood opposite Sam.
"Begin" Jóse said. Izzy quickly thought of a spell.
"Water cyclone" she launched a blast at Sam, who casted her 'Radiant Shell'. They went at it for awhile, but in the end Sam won.
"You need to be more confident when casting your spells Izzy. Not doing so can weaken a spell and leave you open to an attack" Rosie, a 596 year old alicorn mare and Jordans' trainer, instructed as they walked over.
"Yes ma'am" Izzy sat next to her sister. Their training for the day ended not long after.
The girls were heading back home to rest when Sam flew up next to Izzy and asked, "You okay"
"Yeah. Yeah I'm fine" she slightly jumped as she didn't hear her.
"Isabel Lightheart, I know you better than that. What's wrong" Izzy swallowed a good sized lump in her throat. Sam never uses her full name. She sighed, "Rosie is right, I'm not confident enough. I'm always to scared of using my magic. That and I don't want to fight my friends" she ranted.
The other four mares looked at one another before Thelma got an idea, "What if we create a virtual reality simulation for training. So we don't have to fight each other". They all agreed to the idea and told their trainers the next morning.
"Why didn't I think of that" Diamond mumbled.
From then on that's how they trained. Izzy caught up to the others as they stronger, both with spells and their bodies. Though that peaceful time training was soon put to the test.
The girls and Ákos, along with their group of friends, played in a field about seven miles west from both their house and the palace. Ákos lounged under a tree and watched over the 19 young creatures and the surrounding area.
"Get back here Samantha" Vivien, the PFWP, yelled as she chased the 16 year old PFA.
"Nope" Sam laughed as she ran in front of the albino dragon. He chuckled at their antics, but happy they're having fun.
In the forest to the southwest of the field the teens were playing in, a large black unicorn stallion and his herd got closer to them. These stallions were rouges.
"You sure she's here boss" a buckskin pegasus asked the unicorn.
"Yes I'm sure you dumbass" he grunted. It took them a few minutes to get to the field and watch Vivien chase their target. Ákos caught a glimpse of light brown in the tree line. He stood and moved much closer to the group that now lounged in the middle of the field. He caught Sams' eye, as Vivien was still chasing her, and motioned the girl over.
"Come on, I saw something in the woods" Sam got closer to Ákos, so close that the men hunting her couldn't see her.
"It's the forest Ákos, it's probably nothing" Sally dismissed the dragons worries. Though she was wrong, 'cause soon after the herd of ten stallions burst out of the trees. Ákos immediately moved in front of the teens and spread his top set of wings to cover them. He growled deep in his throat.
"We want the girl" Ákos growled louder at the black unicorn.
"Not happening" Thelma almost growled, flaring her wings. Out of nowhere Ákos was hit by a shot of powerful magic, knocking him down and out. They checked him over, thankful he was still breathing. Sam then turned to look at the stallion that hurt her dragon. Her eyes flaring in a rare sign of pure anger. Some people, like her friends, knew how hard it is to truly anger the young mare. You know you fucked up if you made her angry.
Her feathers violently vibrated as she growled at them. A couple of the smaller stallions, though they were still taller than her, cowered away from her. Thelma, Izzy, Lizzy, and Jordan joined her, standing in front of Ákos' unconscious body and their friends. All five glaring at the ten men.
The black unicorn smirked darkly, his horn glowed very dark red as he charged up a spell. As soon as he launched the spell, Sam launched her 'Radiant shell' around all them.
"Solid script: Shadow wolfs"
"Lightning strike" Thelma and Jordan cast their spells as soon as the smoke cleared. The spells caught the rouges by surprise, knocking half them out with ease. The boss growled, blasting another spell at them. Sam again blocked the spell before casting 'Sun dragon', one of her most powerful spells. A big yellow dragon with sun markings (like those in Tangled) appeared above her and fired a bright beam of light at its target. The five remaining stallions, along with the other five on the ground, we're knocked back over six feet.
"This isn't over!" the black unicorn yelled as the herd of rouges fled.
