"Emyrs?" Mordred crouched down

Merlin was in out conscious because of the loss of blood

"GUARDS!" Mordred shouted

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"What happened?" Arthur shouted as he burst through in to Gauis' chambers, seeing the pale boy on the cot with Gauis hovering above him bandaging his wounds and Mordred sitting on one of the stairs leading upstairs

"Sire, he is going to be fine," Gauis said "He is lucky Mordred found him when he did,"

Mordred and Arthur had a brief eye contact understanding each other before Arthur his attention back to Merlin's state

"What seems to be the damage? And who did this?" Arthur was so confused. Merlin isn't the type of person to have himself in these type of situations.

"Sire, he had 3 broken ribs, a cut near the shoulders and a few..." Gauis looked from Merlin to Arthur. Thinking to himself that should he tell because he himself was surprised that Merlin hadn't tell him so how could he tell Arthur, but he knew that he didn't have a choice

"Whip marks, Sire," Gauis said fiddling with his hands he sat down "On his back, they look about a few weeks old but since he didn't get proper treatment so the wounds didn't heal properly so thats why they reopened again today,"

Arthur looked at him disbelieve and for a moment he didn't want to believe and wanted to tell Gauis that he was mistaken but why would Gauis lie, after all Merlin was a like a son to him. Mordred somehow lost  his control with his magic and a vessel burst out with it's contents spilling all around the shelf and into the cauldron with boiling water. Arthur jumped at the sudden outburst and looked questioningly at Gauis

"It was near the flames Sire," Gauis covered for Mordred "The temperature made the vile rise,"

Arthur gave a slight nod before turning his thoughts back to Merlin. Gauis looked stern with Mordred but let it go for now and started to clear up the mess he had made. Mordred couldn't keep it in anymore, he had to tell Arthur about Victor

"Milord, i know who did this to Merlin," Mordred started off and Arthur was immediately by his side

"What have you been waiting for this whole time?" Arthur questioned him "Well go on, tell me,"

"It was Lord Victor, Milord," Mordred said venom lasing his words

"Tell me everything Mordred," Arthur said sternly

Mordred told Arthur everything

"Milord, once you sent me to look for him I did and suddenly there were screams and when I followed to Lord Victor's chambers. I burst through the door and saw that Merlin was on the ground while Victor was on him with a knife and about to kick him," Mordred explained "And then I hit him causing to go out of conscious and bought Merlin here with the help of the the guards,"

Arthur's fist collided with the table causing it rumble a little. Anger burned inside him, just thinking about someone hurting Merlin. He had to get the formation of the battle ready, he didn't want to leave of course but he had to

"Gauis, I need to get everything ready," Arthur said glancing at Merlin "As soon as he wakes up, your to tell me first,"

"And also get bandages ready and a lot of them," Arthur added "there are going to be casualties,"

Gauis gave him a nod before he bid a  farewell and left closing the door behind him

"Your lucky that I had an excuse in time," Gauis glared at Mordred "You need to control your magic,"

Mordred gave a slight nod before walking out as well, bidding a farewell to the old physician and getting ready for battle. As soon as Gwen had heard about it, she knew that she could be useful to Gauis and that also gave her chance to see how Merlin was doing. On the other hand, Arthur visited the cells in search of Victor, anyone who hurts Merlin this badly doesn't get away with it. The news had travelled fast to the knights as well, but they had to much to do that they couldn't see their friend instead made a mental note to meet him when he wakes up

If nothing happens to Victor during the battle, he will be banished from Camelot as soon as the battle ends. Arthur wanted to do nothing other than kill him right there and then but he knew that it wasn't the right thing and didn't come under Camelot's laws. Around afternoon, a servant had come to the main hall informing them that Merlin was awake. Arthur and the knights didn't waste a minute as the walked through the corridors and reached the physician's chambers

They threw doors open and saw Merlin covered in a blanket and a hot goblet of herbal tea clasped in his hands. Merlin's face lit up as his eyes landed on Arthur, the duo shared a brief eye contact before it was broken by Gwaine and Arthur glared at him

"How are you feeling now?" Lancelot asked sheathing his sword

"Much better Lance," Merlin smiled

"You should've told me what Victor did to you the first time you met him," Arthur said sternly "I would have him banished then and there,"

"Arthur it's fine," Merlin shrugged "It doesn't matter,"

I am a servant after all, Merlin thought

"Anyway, i heard about Morgana's attack," Merlin added and glanced at Mordred. His worried expression mirrored his own for a second "Is everything in place?"

"Yeah, pretty much," Leon answered

"We can't let Morgana succeed," Merlin said seriously

"No kidding, Merlin," Arthur's voice dripped of sarcasm

Merlin just rolled

"You know what i mean right?" Merlin spoke to Mordred through their minds

"I know Emyrs," Mordred sighed "Morgana's magic has been more stronger than the last time,"

"I have felt it to Mordred," Merlin looked at Mordred "That's actually how i woke up, she is very close to Camelot,"

"We can't let her get her hands on Arthur's crown," Modred added

"What are you planning?" Merlina asked

"Merlin?" Arthur called out for him breaking his and Mordred's bond

"I don't have anything right now," Mordred said shaking his head "what about you?"

Even though the other knights and Arthur has no idea what these two were doing, they knew that they were somehow communicating with each other. They could tell because of their facial expression

"Nothing," Merlin dreaded

And supposedly ended the discussion between the druid man and his leader
