Scars Untold (Merthur)

Part 5

"MERLIN!" Arthur shouted as man was going for the warlock's back

Arthur quickly jumped in between them shielding Merlin, blocking the blow easily with Excalibur throwing the other knight off of his footing and jammed the sword in his side as blood gushed out 

"Pay attention will you!" Arthur hissed at him as he fought another man 

"Sorry?" Merlin said questioningly 

"Merlin is there something you need to tell me?" Arthur tried to squeeze the truth of Merlin though he knew 

"No?" Merlin asked his eyeing him again questioningly "Why are you asking these questions now?"

"No matter," Arthur deprived "But i want you to know that you can trust me,"

When he said that he jammed his sword in the enemy's gut before turning around meeting the now not so secret warlock. Merlin gave him a weak smile before looking around them for anyone. Everything seemed to be under control till now but they still had to find Morgana and take her down then only will her men stand down 

"Arthur where would Morgana be? Judging her purpose," Merlin tested him 

"Throne room!" Arthur exclaimed 

Arthur ran through the crowd fighting mercilessly anyone who attacked him or Merlin before reached the citadel. They had penetrated the walls and the situation wasn't looking so good in the citadel. They passed by the knights of the round table who were having each other's backs, upon seeing them Arthur smiled for a moment considering the situation. As soon as the knights was their King and the warlock going inside the castle they followed them 

 They first decided to stop at Gauis' and check the situation there hoping that everything was going as planned. But as soon as they reached they saw Gwen with tears in her eyes as she was struggling against a man who was intending to do what a man shouldn't do to a lady

"HEY!" Elyan shouted 

He ran towards Gwen with his sword out and yanking the man off of her and pulling her towards her in her arms while the Arthur rammed the sword into the man's gut 

"Are you alright?" Elyan whispered to her 

"I am fine," She smiled to him wiping her tears but her face was serious again and she turned to Arthur "There are many of our knights who are injured,"

"I supposed it," Arthur sighed "How are the majority? Is there anything you guys need?"

"Sire, they are in a good condition" Gwen smiled "We were short a few bandages but that is all settled now,"

Arthur gave her nod though wanted to tell her that she may not use titles but they were interrupted but yells from the left. The men kept their swords on the ready as Elyan pushed Gwen through the doors of Gauis' chambers. Sounds of metal clashing with each other rang through the corridor 

"Arthur!" Leon shouted "We have control here, go find Morgana,"

Arthur wanted to protest but no one paid attention to him, he gave an aggressive sigh before he ran towards the throne room. Merlin finished off the man he was fighting and ran after Arthur 

"Take care Emyrs," Mordred's voice rang inside him 

"You too," Merlin replied back 

It wasn't long till he saw the doors of the throne room were open and Arthur had just gone in. Merlin followed him and already saw Arthur fighting some men. Merlin dashed inside as well blocking a blow which was for Arthur's back and finished of the man. Suddenly, the sound of clapping attracted the two men's attention, they turned to the source as she stepped down from the throne, a golden crown shimmering in he sunlight 

"I have to say i quite impressed with your skills," Morgana mocked to Merlin "Didn't think you had it in you,"

"Morgana, you can't do this," Merlin hissed at her 

"YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO AND WHAT NOT!" Morgana shouted at him 

"Morgana!" Arthur gritted at her "You can surrender and i will not kill you,"

"Who is to say i won't kill you?" Morgana smirked 

 But before Merlin could do anything he felt a sharp pain on his forehead before darkness had surrounded him. The last thing he remembered was Arthur calling out his name as he was restrained by two other black cloaked knights. Arthur saw as Merlin's head hit the ground, his body looking lifeless and drained, Arthur was about to rush to Merlin but their was an invisible force holding him down along with the her knights 

Don't you see that i have won brother," Morgana smirked "Can't you see that? You can't beat sorcerers with swords and spears,

"To hell with you Morgana," Arthur hissed 

Morgana muttered the words of the old religion as her eyes where glowing bright golden. Arthur suddenly felt lightheaded and he met the same darkness which Merlin had welcomed a few seconds ago
