Scars Untold (Merthur)

Part 6

"To hell with you Morgana," Arthur hissed 

Morgana muttered the words of the old religion as her eyes where glowing bright golden. Arthur suddenly felt lightheaded and he met the same darkness which Merlin had welcomed a few seconds ago

The once enveloped darkness had left alone Merlin as his eyes adjusted to the striking light. Merlin silently winced as he opened his eyes and tried to move his hand but gave up. Merlin's head was pounding as it felt like someone was constantly hitting him with a hammer. The last thing he remembers was Arthur calling out his name as he felt someone hit his head abruptly 

Merlin adjusted his eyes to his surrounding, only now noticing the other three knights of the round table along with their King. All chained up just like Merlin, their heads hug to the side as they were still unconscious. It was another day in Camelot though Merlin had no idea for how long he had been out and considered magic for regaining his conscious before others. But at the back of his mind there was something nagging constantly 

What would happen if i have to use my magic?

What would happen if Arthur learned about my magic? What would happen with the knights?

Would Arthur still like me?

The last thought is what struck him the most. That kiss meant everything for Merlin and he wasn't willing to let that memory go. At that moment Merlin had vowed not to give in to Morgana's torture and to protect Arthur and knights even if it means that he is to reveal himself. However, he was taken out of his thoughts due to sudden stirring and he saw that one by one everyone was gaining conscious again 

"I feel like i have fallen a thousand feet from the sky," Muttered Arthur as he rubbed hid head 

"No kidding," Percival agreed 

"Where are we?" Leon asked sitting up 

Merlin smirked 

"Funny you don't remember your own dungeons," Merlin  answered as Leon gave him a playful glare 

"How long have you been awake?" Arthur asked Merlin 

"A few minutes ago," Merlin said 

Arthur was about to something when suddenly their were sounds of clicking heels and soon Morgana was in their sight reach smirking as she opened their cell and came in. And that is when Merlin's heart beat doubled, Morgana could tell everyone his secret 

Nonetheless, Merlin's magic reached out first protecting Arthur and then it spread through the rest of the knights and protecting though no could tell and he had blocked out Morgana to sense him doing anything

"Morgana," Merlin hissed at her 

"Such a nice reunion if i must say," Morgana stated "But isn't one of the knights missing here?"

Arthur looked around and only now noticing that Mordred wasn't here 

"What have you done with Mordred?" Arthur hissed at her 

"Let's just say that alliance shifted," Morgana said "Mordred?"

There was shuffling above and then the usual clatter of boots was heard as Mordred came down the stairs. He winced a little as he absorbed the look of his friends but kept his head down as Morgana came into view and completely wipes his face of any emotion for his locked up friends 

"Mordred?" Arthur looked at him not believing his eyes 

Mordred remained silent knowing that he can talk to them later and explain everything because they have any chance of defeating Morgana they need a man inside

"There is no escape now brother," Morgana smirked "I have won now, finally,"  

"Why keep us alive Morgana?" Arthur asked "Why not jut kill us?"

"I am not going to give you an easy death brother," Morgana spat at him "I am going to make you suffer like i did,"

"He did nothing of the sort," Merlin defended Arthur "This was your own choice to make. It was your destiny's part,"

Knights and Arthur were a little taken back seeing their cheerful and happy servant so harsh. On the other hand, Arthur was a little taken back that what advantage would Morgana with  Merlin, so he had to do something to get at least Merlin out. 

"Why take Merlin? He is just a servant," Arthur looked at her confused "I demand that you let Merlin go. He has nothing to do in all of this, you holding an innocent"

Morgana scowled at him thinking , how dare he gave her orders even when he is behind bars? Merlin on the other hand was not going to like the outcome of this conversation if Morgana blabbers to much. Suddenly, Morgana erupted into laughter, the knights looked t each other thinking that she has certainly lost it now

"I can't do that," Morgana said "Merlin is useful in ways you wouldn't understand,"

"Then make me," Arthur cried out clearly frustrated  "Why are you not letting Merlin free?"

"Because, he killed Morgouse, he forced her to live a painful and miserable last days. He bloody survived every time i tried to get rid of him including those cursed serket's sting," Morgana shrieked "Time and time again he has single handily stopped all of my plans to take over Camelot and most of all to kill you. And he did all that behind your lots' back,"

The whole room was quite again and all were in shock. Merlin was expecting the outburst from Morgana, he knew that it was coming. And right at that moment, Morgana had slapped Merlin turning the once fair skin into a light red from the heat of the slap. Although, Merlin was expecting that torture, but anger was building inside him and he didn't want to release his anger through magic so he did the next best thing he is good at...shouting 

"Yes, Morgana i did all of those things, you are right. Because, Arthur is the rightful heir to the throne and you can't change that," Merlin shouted at her "Why can't you see that?"

"Merlin he would never allow magic to Camelot, and i know that want that as much as i do," Morgana cried back "He is nothing less than Uther,"

The knights all looked around each other in confusion as the two warlocks had a screaming constant at each other

"Morgana, i want magic back as much as you do but this is not how we should do it," Merlin confronted her "You are being just like Uther, killing for something which isn't in your power. Camelot isn't and never will be yours."

"Morgana, i would never join you," Merlin added with full confidence "You can do to whatever you want. You can tell them everything for all i care but know this, i would never betray Camelot or Arthur,"

"FINE," Morgana shouted 

Her magic raged so much that once her anger was out by shouting, an invisible force threw him back hitting his body and all to the wall harshly. Knights and Arthur looked dumbstruck and shocked at this, Mordred let out an audible gasp controlling not to go and help his friend, Arthur on the other hand was trying to pry the shackles off but he couldn't since it was magic bound. Morgana huffed as she exited the cell and Arthur gave Mordred a disgusted look before he exited as well, guilt building up deep in his stomach
