"Of course we will Dad." Renesmee said wrapping her arms around her father. Edward twirled her round like he used to do when she was smaller.
"Awwww I've missed you beautiful!" He said and he gave her a controlled hug, taking care as he always did so not as to hurt her.
Mari sat at a distance giving them some bonding time. They'd been to hunt before they stopped off at Renesmee's house.
Jacob returned home just as Edward and Mari were leaving, the pack never went far, but they knew Renesmee didn't need constant watching anymore.
"Hey bloodsucker!" Jacob greeted him as he always did.
"Mutt!" Edward replied as he always did too.
"Dads invited us round for dinner on Saturday... That's ok isn't it?" She grinned with glee.
"Hmmm...as long as you're not main course...yeah?" He grinned at Mari.
"Jake...." She chastised him
"I'm joking!" He held up his hands. "Yes that's fine...we have a pack hunt on Friday, but Saturday is fine.
"No trouble I hope?" Edward said referring to the hunt.
"Not really..Seth said he saw something on the news about a missing boy in Lopra. We just wanna check out the area."
Mari heard Edwards thoughts and spoke. "I will come to keep Renesmee company if you like...we can do each other's nails?"
"Oh wow! Yeah that would be great!" Renesmee's face lit up.
"I'm sure it's nothing ...you don't need to all come...we will cope!" Jacob said to Edward.
"Sometimes the thrill of a chase is good for the soul" Edward replied. Only Renesmee in that room was unaware of what they were all thinking right at that moment. Another clan was loose in the area.
As Renesmee walked Mari out to the door Edward spoke quietly to Jacob. "Don't.... leave her side till we've sorted this..you never know!"
"You know I won't..." Jacob replied.
Meanwhile outside Renesmee and Mari giggled "I knew it would happen" Renesmee smirked.
Mari hugged her gently and smiled back "well it's early days...we're in no rush."
"But he's took his ring off...that speaks volumes" she winked.
"I didn't make him...you know that right." Mari rubbed her arm.
"Yes I know...I'm fine with it....he deserves to be happy."
Edward joined them on the porch. "He is..." He said smiling at his daughter.
Mari kissed her cheek and made her way to the jeep...leaving Edward to have his moment with Renesmee alone.
"I'm glad you are" she said as he pulled her into a hug.
"Listen...I have something for you." He said and pulled away from the hug and pulled a box out of his pocket.
"Dad that's not ....." She gasped.
"It's not what you think...I mean....well...just open it!" She opened it and gasped again. "Dad!!!!"
I wanted you to have it...I don't need it anymore and as your Mom gave it to me...it belongs to you now." His white gold band glistened under the porch light.
"Dad...I....." She protested.
"Yes...you can" he insisted "just don't go using it anytime soon...ok?"
She giggled "no....I won't"

"That was a beautiful thing to do" Mari said on their way home.
"Yeah...well I just hope she doesn't use it anytime soon." He said staring Ahead at the road as he drove.
"She's got a good head on his shoulders Edward..she'll be fine."
"I wish I had your optimism." He glanced over to his new mate. His Mari.

Alice greeted them as they came in the door. "You're in trouble!"
"Again?" Edward smiled rolling his eyes.
Esme's voice grew louder as she entered the front hall.
"What did I do?" He knew it was about taking Mari out of work early.
"You know damn well what you did!"
"Sorry Esme it was my fault..." Mari tried to cover for Edward.
"It's both of your fault...you know money is scarce at the moment, Carlisle is having to work overtime now to pay the car tax on your Jeep."
"Sorry Esme...I'll do a leaflet drop tomorrow." Edward hated doing them..but it helped bring in the business, and he wanted to sweeten Esme up.
"You can both do it...subject closed!" And she sped off back Into the kitchen.
"Ouch!" Emmett winced.
"Shut it you...you didn't even show up today." Edward knew this.
"I know ...I had to do a leaflet drop for bunking off last week!" He sheepishly admitted. Causing a ripple of laughter.
"You eaten?" Rosalea asked as they were about to leave for a hunt.
"Yeah we went before we went to see Renesmee." Edward smiled
"You gave her your ring?...how sweet" Rosalea cooed.
"Yeah well I don't need it anymore" he pulled Mari in by the waist.
"Cute Bro....Cute!" Said Jasper as the all filed out the door.
