Venom

"What do I do?" Mari's voice wavered.
"I need your venom...then get it into him as much as you can..but any means." Carlisle prepared a large syringe.
"Ok...how long till we know.." She'd seen what he thought after he'd stopped talking.
"Unknown....but I would hope the venom will spread quickly and we should hopefully see some changes immediately." He approached her holding the syringe. "This may hurt.."
Plunging the syringe into her chest, he knew taking it from the obsolete heart cavity would ensure the venom was at its strongest.
She yelped in pain...but she knew it was justified.
"Hang in there ... Just a little more..." Carlisle comforted her as he withdrew the grey sap from inside her.
Yanking it out when it was full..left her panting and she fell to her knees...
"Sorry!..." He held out a hand to help her up..
"Edward!" She beckoned Carlisle to help him...He was the priority now.
Plunging the syringe deep now Into Edwards chest, he squeezed in her venom, hoping it wasn't too late.
Mari staggered to her feet clutching her chest and moved in close now to her mate.
"Bite him!" Carlisle ordered.
She didn't hesitate sinking her teeth into his neck, she tasted his venom which made her dizzy, almost making her faint.
"His venom is fighting against yours...go again!"
She did as she was told. This time biting his arm. Her head span and her legs collapsed from under her. Carlisle was there to hold her up.
"Keep biting...I'll hold you....You have to fight it Mari!... Bite him!" The urgency now paramount in Carlisle's voice.
She used all her strength and bit on his arm once more... and again ....and again......the room went black as she had used all her stores. She had passed out.

As her eyes opened her vision blurred, voices echoed around the room. A bit like back when she had that operation when she was a mortal.
It appeared she was on a similar bed to Edwards turning her head slowly to her right she saw him lying there. Renesmee at his side.
It took all her strength but she said aloud. "Ed...ward"
Carlisle appeared beside her. "He still weak..but there has been a few twitches...so we think it's working...you used the majority of your stores...which made you pass out."
She felt a cloth press to her forehead.
Her eyes reverted to Renesmee..who mouthed "thank you"
Slowly she started to feel her hands and legs come back into use. She'd done all she could..now the rest was up to Edward.
As she felt stronger she pushed herself to sit up.
"Gently now...you need to recover." Esme said helping her upright.
"I need to stay with him" Mari said.
"I'll get a chair" Esme smiled.

She padded gingerly to his bedside and sat down in the chair. Reaching out she held his free hand.
"This is what he needs...his daughter and his mate" Carlisle placed an arm around Esme. They had done all they could.

Neither of them left Edwards side. Slowly the tiny twitches grew stronger and stronger until on the 12th daylight since Mari's venom was pushed into his system, the twitches turned into convulsions.
As the situation was unknown, they could only hope it was a good thing but it was so painful to watch, especially for Renesmee.
They all gathered around as one particularly long set of convulsions subsided...both Renesmee and Mari looked at each other in shock...Edward was squeezing their hands.
"He's squeezing....." Renesmee shouted out having to pull her precious hand from his vice grip as it started to hurt.
"Edward???" Mari leaned in close..."Edward...come back to us we need you?!"
In front of their eyes his face changed colour, he was coming back....
"Dad??...Dad?" Renesmee stroked his hair.
A non existent breath was held....
"Come on!!!!" Emmett said impatiently.
Carlisle held up a hand. "Give him time"
His eyelid flickered.....then slowly opened and looked to Renesmee.
"Dad!!!" Renesmee squeeled.
Edwards mouth opened to speak they all waited .... "Beaut.....I....ful"
"Yes Dad....I'm here.....Dad....." tears poured down her cheeks as she clasped his face in her hands
"Ma....ri" Edward spoke again.
"I'm here....Edward....I'm here..." Tears streamed down her face too
Turning his head towards her voice, a stray tear of his own trickled down towards his left ear.
"Ma...ri" he said again.
"I'm here Edward...I'm here." She said again.
