Dark Awakenings - after Breaking Dawn (Twilight)

Worry

"ALICE! TELL ME WHERES SHES GONE!" Edward was seething.
"Hey hey.... What's all the shouting?" Carlisle entered lounge to calm the situation.
"She's gone Carlisle...and Alice won't tell me where she is..." Edward growled.
"Mari?" Carlisle looked from Edward to Alice.
"I've had no vision..he knows that....I don't know Edward....I'm sorry!" Alice looked upset.
"She left this..." Edward handed the note to Carlisle.
Cars skid to a halt outside as jasper, Emmett and Rosalea return.
"What the hell is going on?" Jasper barges in.
"Mari has left...we don't know where..Alice hasn't seen any visions.." Carlisle explained.
"Nothing?" Rosalea asked Alice.
Alice just shakes her head as Jasper takes place at her side.
"Ok... We'll start by tracking..Edward try Renesmee's!" Carlisle set out the plan. "We will meet back here in 4 hours"
Edward jumped into the car and wheel spins off to Renesmee's house.

"No I haven't seen her Dad...Come in..."
"What...what did I do? Why would she go?" Edward was trying to find reason.
"Ok...have you tracked around the area?" She wanted to help...somehow
"The rest are doing that now." He stands and paces the room eyes wide as he bites his thumb.
"Ok...Dad stay calm...they'll find her...I'm sure of it."
"Alice said she hasn't seen anything...that's not normal.....why didn't I hear her thoughts?"
"Maybe she hasn't seen anything because nothing has happened...we can hope"
"Why couldn't I stop her?"
"Did you fight? You both left here fine?!"
"No!"
"Ok...what happened last night? What did you talk about?"
"I...we..." He continued to pace.
"Ok Dad you're scaring me....calm down!...think"
"I was burning some wood..in the garden...she was in her room..I saw her in the window!"
"Ok....did you speak?"
"No....I saw....um.." This sounded ridiculous.
"Saw what?" Renesmee placed a calming hand on her fathers arm.
"Your mom.."
"Mom?"
"Yes....she ...came as a vision I suppose"
"Yes well we've all been saying that..." she read her fathers mind on what her mother had said.
"Later I went to her room...but I felt nothing...heard nothing...like when your mom used to be sleeping...so I thought I'd leave her in her peace...so I didn't go in...this morning when I went to say morning..she was gone"
"Oh Dad!" She gently wrapped her arms around him....lending him her strength.
Jacob rushed in the door. "What's happened?" He was obviously tuned well into Renesmee's thoughts and feelings now.
"I'm ok!" She said easing his mind instantly.
"Mari?" He said obviously reading her mind.
"She's disappeared..the family are out finding her." She turned now back to her father.
"Oh." His sympathy came unwanted by Edward.
"Save it Wolf! Guess you got what you wanted...me to be unhappy!" Edward sneered.
"Dad! Jake never thought that...he was just trying to protect mom!"
"Yeah ...we all know what he was trying to do." Edward wasn't going to forget it easily.
"Ok...you know what??...STOP IT! Both of you! I've had it with all this macho Bullshit!..we can't change the past! I've had it ...with both of you!" Storming out the door she sank down on the porch hugging her knees. Inside was silenced, only broken by Jacobs promise to find Mari.

The pack joined the search...as they all met up again at the allotted time at the Cullens, Mari was still missing. She'd left lots of trails..all crossing over until her scent disappeared amongst a newborn scent. Perhaps she had used to mask her trail. Her old scent from her past. Why didn't she want to be found?
They all took shifts when not working to search for Mari. Edward just couldn't concentrate on anything. Renesmee came to stay for a few days to be near her father.
The pack still had their hunt to check out about the missing boy. So went without the Cullen's.

Renesmee knocked on Mari's room door, where her father now resided. Edward sat in her chair flicking through a book from her bookshelf. Looking over his shoulder he softly said "Come in"
She entered carrying a glass of nectar for him, he hadn't hunt for 3 days and was starting to look thin. She held out the glass for him, which he took after closing the book.
"Thank You" he forced a smile towards her.
"That's ok..." She replied with her own smile. "You ok? Or is that a silly question from a halfbreed?"
"No...it's not silly...I..just want to find her."
"I'm sure she will come home Dad..." Was all she could say.
"Sooner the better." He replied.
She stood and rubbed his shoulder and placed a kiss on top of his head leaving him in what was now his whole world.
