"Wow! Look at you up and about!" Emmett said later that day when they had returned from work.
"Yeah, I'm feeling really good actually..maybe it's the younger venom inside me...but I feel great." Edward sipped a glass of lambs blood.
"That looks good..I'm parched." Emmett licked his lips and headed for the fridge. "Where is everyone?"
"Um Carlisle and Esme are on an errand and Mari is around somewhere." He glanced around.
Rosalea, Alice and Jasper joined then in the kitchen.
"Hey Edward....looking so much better!" Alice said pinching his cheek.
"Thanks!" Edward tweeked her nose.

Meanwhile Mari is stood alone in the garden taking in the air. Staring out over the view she sighs loudly. Thinking how good she felt right now.
"Hey you.." Edward said making her jump slightly, which she found odd..as she normally heard people coming from miles away.
Wrapping his arms around her waist from behind he rested his chin on her right shoulder. "Hey...it's ok...it's only me..you ok? You're not usually jumpy."
"Yeah..I know...don't know what's wrong with me...I'm very jumpy around you recently..I don't know why?" She admitted
Turning her where she stood to face him, he smoothed back her long auburn locks. "No need to be jumpy...I'm not going anywhere now, and neither are you I hope?"
"Not a chance" she physically relaxed in his arms.
"If you're worried I can ask Carlisle to give you a check up...make sure you didn't get and infection from the syringe or anything?" Edward moved a stray strand of hair that fell across her face.
"Nah! I'm ok...i feel fine...don't feel Ill...just ..I dunno how to explain it." She insisted.
"Well I'm just gonna have to keep a closer eye on you then?" He pulled her hourglass body towards his own, feeling stirring inside him raging again.
Standing slightly on her tiptoes to make her self taller slightly she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. She immediately felt him respond and went in once more. As the kiss deepened, his hands moved from her back down to her clothed covered buttocks. He lustfully pulled her closer again. His mind reeling as she broke the kiss to expose her neck to him..planting kisses front one ear round to the other, this was going to be hard to stop. Roughly running her fingers through his tufty locks she grabbed a handful yanking back his head to expose his own neck in return. Grazing her teeth against his skin he let out a groan, rolling his eyes back he was under her spell, the spell every Vampire reeked of. Taking full advance of his being off guard she giggled and released him before zooming off inside..begging him to follow in her mind.
Edward stood now alone in the garden panting animal like...with a grin..he paced human speed up the decked steps towards the house in pursuit.

"You gotta stop doing that..I'm finding it harder to resist each time." He said as he caught up with her in her room.
"Haha...sorry..I guess I just can't help it." She teased slightly as she slouched in her armchair.
"Seriously..I'm not up to that yet!" He said dropping down to his knees an front of her and wrapping his arms around her waist, she parted her legs slightly to allow him to get closer.
"Damn virtues." She smirked. Pulling his head closer to her, she rested it on the side to her chest, before placing her hands tenderly around his head.

"Mari??" Esme called upstairs as they returned from their errand.
"Yeah!" She called back. Her and Edward had been cuddling now for about 20 minutes.
"She has something to tell you!" Edward knitted his eyebrows.."but I can't see what."
"Ok well ...stay here I'll go see." She ruffled his fluffy hair, knowing he hated his hair being messed up.
"ARRGHHHHHHHHH man!" He cursed smoothing it down.

"Yep" Mari said once she'd descended the stairs.
"Ok so I went there and they said they can deliver next Wednesday...I said that was ok..hope that's ok?" Esme grinned.
"Oh ..yeah...wow! Yes that's fine...hope he likes surprises." Mari said quietly. Hoping he wouldn't be listening.
"It's been real hard for us to keep this out our minds...luckily he's too busy thinking bout you to be listening to our thoughts!" Just then Edward appeared to be descending the stairs himself .. So they changed the subject and thought pattern.
"Gee thanks for the magazine Esme." She smiled with a wink.
"That's ok dear"..thought of you when I saw it.
The subject didn't seem to interest Edward...to their relief.

Later that evening Carlisle took the family out to hunt, leaving Edward and Mari alone again. They huddled up on Edwards bed as soft piano music played.
"I think I'm up to going back to work soon, I need to get out" Edward stroked her her softly.
"Fancy a walk?" She suggested.
"Hmmm..yeah...I think I do...come on" darting off the bed she followed him.

Slowly they walked hand in hand down towards the Beach. Darting off she used some of her pent up energy, jumping over rocks and small rock pools left by the outgoing tide. Slowly he strolled across the shingle watching the sun go down over the horizon with his hands slotted in his jean pockets. He wasn't up to running quite yet. There was something about the sound of the ocean that had a calming effect...whether mortal or not.
Zipping past him she caused a draught, he turned 360 watching her as she ran.
"I love it here" he heard her shout...but ...wait ...he didn't hear it it his head..as he normally did..but like when Renesmee talked...a non immortal...what was going on?
'Me too' he thought knowing she'd hear him. 'One day I'm gonna marry you here..' He thought again.
She came running over zipping to a halt. "Did you hear me?" She smiled.
"Yeah..I answered..didn't you hear my thoughts?"
"Um...no!"
"You sure you are ok? This doesn't seem right" now it concerned Edward.
"Yes I feel fine...honestly" she replied, leaving him unconvinced. "What did you say anyway?"
"Oh...umm nothing!" He said thinking over what he'd said about marriage. Maybe it wasn't the right time yet, and it was kind of a test to see if she really didn't hear his thoughts.
"O...k! Shall we head back..you must be exhausted.." She didn't want him worrying and she thought he maybe was struggling to hear her because he wasn't as well as he made out yet.
They walked back home as slowly as they came. Holding hands and telling jokes.

Wednesday came and Carlisle had suggested to Edward, he should maybe try and do some paperwork at work, light duties to get him out the house a bit, and to keep him away from his surprise of course.
"You coming to work today Babe?" He said to Mari over a drink of nectar in the morning.
"I have an errand to run today, but I'll be in later...about 3?" She said nonchinatly hoping he wouldn't read her mind. She tried desperately to imagine going shopping instead of her special delivery.
"An errand?" Edward looked perplexed.
Esme noticed her struggling to think of an excuse.
"Ye..." Mari started but Esme stepped in.
"Yes! Mari is picking up some Christmas presents down in town."
"Wow yeah..I forgot it's nearly December!" Edward said..seemingly unaware of the thoughts in Mari's head once again.
Esme winked at Mari as Edward wasn't looking.
'Thanks' she said sending it to Esme via thought.
'No worries' Esme replied.
"What you thanking her for?" Edward heard Esme....so why wasn't he hearing Mari?
"Oh she knows..." Esme winked again and she left the room.
"Back in a minute.." Mari said to Edward. "Esme...." She called after her jogging out the room.
"Hmmm?" Esme looked back over her shoulder.
"Is Carlisle back soon? I'm a little worried about Edward."
"Um.." She looked at her watch "...he should be back about dusk...what worries?"
"Well it seems Edward is having trouble hearing my thoughts...he's getting confused a lot!"
"Oh...he seems to hear mine fine...I'll tell him you want to see him later...maybe he can check him over...put your mind at ease."
"Oh yes please...thanks Esme"
"No problem dear.." She said a rubbed Mari's arm in support. "EDWARD!!!! Work!" She winked again at Mari.
"Ok...ok! I'm coming!" He said joining them
"I'll wait in the car.." Esme gave them some privacy.
Reaching out he took Mari's hand "see you later then?"
"Yep! About 3?" She smiled up at him sweetly as he leaned in for a kiss. "You need to go to work...don't get me started!!"
"Arrrrrgh...." He quickly placed a small peck on her forehead... "Later!" He pointed a finger at her.
"Byyeee!" She waved timidly.
