Your POV:

I had a dream.

A dream I've been having for a while.

In it, a big, tall man appeared in my life out of the blue.

He's fond of me, and I'm fond of him.

He gave me what I'd never received.

Undivided attention, a warmth within the cold, and an appreciation for who I am and what I do.

The good thing is that this is not a dream anymore.

But the question is, will it end as fast as it came?

Your mind was clouded with the same thoughts every day. That and Ivan. He disappeared not that long ago, and you roam alone yet again.

It's not bad.

I got attached too quickly to someone who thinks of me as a friend.

Foolish of me to have fantasized about him falling for me, right?

You clutched onto your bookbag tightly, repeatedly hurting as your feelings ate you from the inside in the streets of the cold night. Paying no attention to the world around you.

Suddenly, a hand snatched and dragged you into an alleyway you passed by—another hand covered your mouth. Instant panic consumed you. Struggling to escape desperately from the stranger's grasp. They kept repeating,

"Shut it!"

Yet, you fought them and their words. Tears were spilling from your eyes violently, fearing the unthinkable. Then, a miracle occurred. The person let go. You collapsed on the ground and darted away from them instantly. A glance back, you witness Ivan knock out the assaulter with his magic metal pipe of pain. He stepped over the person or body, in this case. He walked towards you and extended a free hand. One thing piled on top of another, your eyes rolled back, and you passed out on the snowy sidewalk.

Slowly but surely, you woke up to the real world. Your bookbag was safely in your arms. You felt motion throughout your body. Though, you weren't moving. Ivan carried you in his arms. "Ivan! I'm so sorry! I blacked out, didn't I?" You worryingly asked while wiggling in his arms.

"Settle, (Y/n). Teper' ty v bezopasnosti. (You're safe now.)" He smiled, assuring you with his sincerity. You saw a frown forming on his mouth as you gazed up at him. "I hope you can forgive my rudeness these past few weeks. I haven't been myself lately, but that shouldn't excuse my behavior toward you."

You blushed at his words. "O-oh, please don't be sorry! I completely understand." You gently patted his chest. You quickly retracted your action, feeling embarrassed by doing so. He laughed, setting you on your feet.

"Vidish' eto vdaleke? (See that in the distance?)" Ivan pointed to the bright lights of the next city over. You looked over where he meant to.

"Kremlin

"Kremlin. Gorgeous, but it can't compete against you."

You blinked in confusion, staring into his violet eyes. "Huh?"

He got a bit flustered. "(Y/n), please be my sunflower." Ivan went straight for it.

"I-I-I don't understand..."

Wrong.

You did understand, but you worried you were misreading his intentions. You were not making that mistake again.

"What I mean is, will... you..." His sudden attitude change made his tall exterior shrink down to your height. Ivan gulped down a lump in his throat.

Why? Why is this suddenly difficult to say out loud? What's happening to me?

He thought, trying to find the right words to say to the person he loved most.

You.

"I think it's what people refer to as a girlfriend?" He stayed silent for a second. "Da, that's right. Girlfriend. Will you be mine?"

You couldn't believe what was unfolding before you. You were having a hard time processing this whole night, almost being killed, and now, the man you loved is confessing his love for you.

"Yes..." You started as tears slowly trickled down your face. "I'd love that..." You grinned as best you could. Making his face light up. "Though, your timing of asking me this could have been a little better, not going to lie." You tugged at his scarf. He chuckled nervously.

"Ya znayu, izvini ... (I know, I'm sorry...)"

In your mind, the dark clouds disappeared with a gust of wind. Revealing a dazzling blue sky. There laid a sunflower field. Ready to be taken care of.
