A Special Question (Germany)

Your POV:

My mind says I'm not the type to fall for someone this hard, but my heart says otherwise!

"I just can't help myself!" You squealed as you completed your picture board of Ludwig hung up on your bedroom wall.

The burning question was, when did this crush start? As cliché as it may sound, it was upon your first meeting with the blonde. Not the love at first sight kind of thing, but his personality stood out to you the most. Then came his height, body figure, and overall attractiveness. You teased and pestered him whenever you had the chance because no matter how much he seemed calm and collected, he was easily flustered. The sad thing was that he was entirely off the radar for quite some time.

I hope he's doing okay...

As you rearranged your room, you thought you could hear a faint scratching sound at the front door. You go over and open it to find Berlitz on your doorstep.

"Hey, buddy! What are you doing here? Is Ludwig with you?" You asked, scanning both ways to find no one in sight. The dog ran in circles excitingly before sitting down right in front of you. You noticed a note attached to his collar. You carefully read it over.

'Dearest (Y/n), it's been a while; if you're busy with other matters, then I understand, but if not, will you accompany me to this year's Oktoberfest next week? Would you please let me know your response with Berlitz here? Thank you.'

This is out of the ordinary for him. But I like it.

Another piece of paper was attached to the note—one for you to write on. You took a minute and wrote down your response.

'I'd love to accompany you! I'll see you there, big boy~!'

You put the note back on his collar.

"I suppose I'll be seeing more of you again and Ludwig, right?" You giggled as Berlitz twirled around happily.

The day had arrived where you and Ludwig would meet up at the annual festival. You wore your best outfit and headed to the meeting place. You two discussed more details about the time and place briefly over text.

You see the person of your interest leaning against a building and staring off into space. You snuck up behind him and tried to scare him. You failed. He chuckled at your attempt.

"I'm growing immune to your tricks, (Y/n). Wie geht es Ihnen? (How are you?) I apologize for disappearing without warning. It wasn't my intention to leave you."

You beam to mask your blush. "I'm fine! Don't worry about it! All that matters is that you're here. So, shall we begin the attractions for today~?" You questioned, tracing your finger up and down his sleeve. Ludwig whipped his head away from the embarrassment forming, along with something else-.

You two watched the parade starting at the beginning of the festival. The music going around lingered and made its way to the people, including yourself. You turn to face Ludwig and laugh mischievously.

"Willst du tanzen? (Want to dance?)" You bow while holding out your hand.

"O-oh, I... I don't-." His face turned bright red because he wasn't the one to ask you to dance.

You stopped him. "And don't give me the whole 'I don't know how to dance.' I'll show you if you don't know how."

Ludwig sighed in defeat, knowing he wasn't going to be able to say no to you. He takes hold of your hand and places his other hand on your hip. You did the same, but placing your free hand on his shoulder. You had never realized it until now how muscular he was upon contact. Your mind went to places you weren't planning on imagining. Even if the dance was brief, you felt like you could dance with him forever. You caught yourself leaning your head against his chest for a short moment. His heart was pounding like crazy. When it was over, you smiled at him—wishing that you could tell how you loved him.

"(Y/n)?" He said with a straight face.

"Yes?" You responded eagerly.

"I know it's crazy to say that we've grown closer these past few months, but you're the first woman that I can be myself around and flustered at the same time. I think it balances out nicely if I say so myself, and I've been meaning to give this back to you." Ludwig reached behind him and took out the mask you wore the night you two met.

"Oh yeah! Sorry I threw it at you! I thought it'd be a nice little touch for you to remember me. We met up later, so I guess it doesn't matter anymore."

"You don't know how much this means to me. If you would take someone like me to be your partner, would you?" His eyes glimmered upon asking a question that caught you off guard.

Your eyes widened. "Yeah, without a second thought! I mean, you're an amazing guy, and anyone would be lucky to have you."

He smiled softly. Then he expanded the elastic band connected to the mask, putting it on you, covering your entire face. "In that case, will you be my girlfriend?" He asked quietly, planting a kiss on your forehead. "You're a bright young lady, and I would love to be with you every step of the way."

This whole scene left you speechless that you couldn't form a sentence, though you managed to do was jump on him and squeeze him as hard as you could. "Yes! I would love that! I love you!" You exclaimed, lifting your mask, grinning ear to ear.

"Wunderbar! (Wonderful!)"

Then you two continued throughout the festival happier than a dog with a new toy.
