Emma's POV
Within a bit, Brent got up and around as well. He sat on the couch and ate his bowl of cereal very quietly. Something seemed out of place. Usually he is louder. Usually he is talking about all the crazy things he dremt of the night before. Usually he is more lively. But nope. Not today.
"Is everything alright?" I asked him.
"Yeah, I'll be fine... I'm just a little upset." He responded staring off like he was zoned out.
"What's the matter?" I asked another question.
"You know the 'Breaking Out' series I'm doing with Sour Patch Kids?" It was his turn to question.
"Yeah... what about it?"
"Well, they want me in to film more today and I was just so looking forward to seeing everyone again!"
"Oooh." I replied. "Well we could do this another time..?"
"Nahh. It's cool. You go and have fun with everybody. Let them know I miss them! Just because I can't go doesnt mean you shouldn't either." He told me.
"Aww. Thanks, but it won't be as fun without you."
"Go on now!" He said with a reassuring smile.
I returned the smile and said, "Alright, see you later!" Then I got ready and left.
I hopped in my car and called Sarah. I hadn't seen her since graduation and she was also going to be there.
"Hey!" She said answering my call.
"Hey. So I'm on my way to the theater, have we decided on the movie yet?" I asked curiously. You see, last night there was a huge discussion between everyone on which movie to see. Us girls wanted to see The Fault In Our Stars and the boys, which is like everyone else, wanted to see Ouija. (I know both movies have been out for a while. I needed ideas tho.)
"Well... if we can't all come to an agreement on a movie, we're gonna be stuck seeing Ouija because of the majority." She told me.
"Ugh..! I hate scary movies! Are you guys there yet?"
"Yeah I know me too. And yeah we are just waiting on you, Nash, and Hayes."
"Ok. Well, I'll let you go. I'll be there soon." I said.
"Alright, see you soon." She said hanging up.
I continued driving and arrived shortly after the call ended. I was the last one to get there and as soon as I did, I saw all my friends in a big circle shouting different reasons why their movie is the better choice.
I walked up and joined the conversation.
"Hey guys." I said.
"Hey Emma." Jack (Johnson) said and then quickly started rambling on about Ouija. "Wait! EMMA!" he shouted pulling me into a hug.
I laughed and then was officially greeted by everyone else with hugs as well.
"Your lover didn't come?" Nash asked with a smirk.
"No... he got called in today for work." I said laughing at the way Nash addressed Brent.
"Ahh. I see. That's too bad." He said.
It was silent a little after that, but i broke it by asking, "So what movie are we seeing?"
"Dunno. Probably Ouija!" Hayes said starting up another 'discussion'.
"Noooo! Please! Anything but Ouija!" I begged.
"There's no better movie out though!" Cameron said.
"....Mockingjay!!!" I answered.
"Yeah! I heard it's really good!" Melissa supported me.
"Hmmm.... guys? What do you think?" Cam asked them. They all huddled in a circle leaving us out of ear reach. Then he popped out of his group and said, "Deal."
We all bought our own tickets and then went in to buy drinks and popcorn. Then we went into the theater and picked out seats. I sat between Sarah and Carter. We waited a few minutes and the movie started playing. It was actually really good! (Seriously it was! If you have not seen it yet, I recommend it! It is so intense bruhh!)
When the movie was over, we all walked out the theater shouting about the ending.
"Oh my gosh! I was NOT expecting that to happen!" Jack (Gilinsky) said.
"I know right! I jumped at that one part! It caught me off guard!" I told him with a laugh at the end.
"I just wish the second part was out so I could see what happens next! They always cut it off with a cliff hanger!" He told me.
"Yeah! But by far that has got to be the best movie in the Hunger Games Series!"
"I totally agree!" He said.
"So any ideas on where to have lunch?" Shawn joined us.
"Hmm. I don't really feel like a sit down restaurant, so how about we just pick up some pizzas and go back to someone's house?" I said.
"Sounds good to me." Cameron chimed in.
"Our house doesn't even have enough seats for everyone, so who's place?" Melissa stated.
"We could go to mine?!" Nash brought up and we all agreed.
"Ok, I'll buy the pizzas, but will someone come with me so I don't have to carry them all by myself?!" I asked.
"Sure. I'll go." Jack G. said and we walked to my car.
"Meet us at my place!" Nash shouted so we could hear from a far. I gave him a thumbs up and we left.
At first it was kinda awkward in the car. And I didn't like it. We are friends, so why would it be this awkward?
"So... how are you and Brent?" Jack finally broke out into conversation.
"We're doing alright." I stated with a smile. "I felt bad; he really wanted to come today."
"Yeah, but when duty calls what else can you do?" It was a restorical question.
Then there was more silence.
"So where are you living right now?" I asked.
"Well, me and Jack bought a house on Jeffrey Street. It's pretty nice. We decided it was good to live together since we still have to keep up with music, vine, and youtube."
"Yeah, that makes sense." I said as I parked the car. We both walked inside Barrow's Pizza and got in line. When it was our turn, we got 5 pizzas. 2 were cheese and 3 were pepperoni. Then we headed back to the car.
Nash's house wasn't too far from Barrow's, so we got there pretty quick. Jack carried 3 pizzas and I carried the other 2. When we approached the door, Jack decided to just walk in and I followed him. We set down the pizzas on the kitchen counter and everyone began trampling over each other to get a slice.
After we ate, we all stayed for a while and had a fire in Nash's backyard. It was a ton of fun. But at around 5 Brent was done and I recieved a few texts from him.
'Hey, are you still with everyone?' I read his text in my head.
'Yeah, we're at Nash's having a fire. You should come!' I replied.
'Ok cool I'll be there in 15.'
