The first thing he saw when he woke was a pair of very familiar blue eyes, filled with amusement with a touch of concern and a soft smile curving her pink lips while a small crease centred her brow.

"Dearest Elijah. Never has the thought of anyone beating you, ever crossed my mind. One of the best warriors in our village I do believe you once were, bested by two baby vampires." The blonde's laughter was the sweetest tune he had heard since they were human. One of his greatest friends and the one who had become like the older sister to all his siblings.

"I thought you were dead... how are you alive?" The Mikaelson's voice was dry and raspy, for obvious reasons, "Where have you been all this time?"

She smiled at him, "Mikael and Esther cared too much for me to let me continue as a mortal, Lijah. You know I was the replacement for Freya. As for where I have been..."

The blonde threw the coat rack to the other side of the room, making the Mikaelson slump against the wall. But as he fell, she easily caught him, throwing his arm over her shoulder, his body sagging against her, "Alyss..."

"I've been busy as of late, dear one. Tracking your movements. Nik's movements. Finn's. Kol's. Rebekah's. Making sure no immediate harm came to any of-"

Elijah snapped his chocolate coloured eyes to her blue ones and with an angered tone, "Klaus threw my brothers and sister into the sea."

Alyssandra smiled sadly at him, "No, he didn't, Lijah. He's kept them close by, safe from your father. Anytime Mikael was nearby, or when one of you were in danger, whether by your own hand or not, Nik protected you all. Not in the most gracious way, I will admit..."

The older vampire found his legs finally, but kept his arm around her shoulder, the woman standing a few inches taller than him, even without her heels.

"They're alive?" Elijah whispered to himself against her collarbone, finding that sisterly comfort he had longed for after so many years, in her embrace.

"Yes, dear one. I must also confess that I know of the Petrova doppelgänger, the moonstone and the Sun and Moon Curse, I find the name hilarious by the way."

"How do you know all this, Alyss? How?" The Mikaelson murmured as the blonde carded her fingers through his hair.

Alyssandra huffed out a single laugh, "I've never strayed too far from you troublesome Mikaelsons. You all just attract unwanted attention, did you know that?"

Elijah chuckled, the sound muffled against her shirt.

"After Mikael had killed you without my knowledge, Esther came to me in my hut to deliver me a goblet of wine. She told me that you were all celebrating something and she didn't want me to be left out-"

"That was the last any of us ever heard of you, Alyss. I didn't realise...I can't believe she had done this to you." The Mikaelson took a step back, but his hand had stayed on her shoulder like he was afraid she'd disappear.

The blonde's smile brightened, however, "Don't apologise, dear one. I do not blame you, your siblings or your parents."

The suited vampire's jaw almost dropped, his shoulders drooping with shock, "And that is why, Alyss, you are the best of us. We may not be of blood, but you are family."

Alyssandra Talisman had carefully placed the Mikaelson in the front seat of her 1972 Dodge Challenger and had buckled his seat belt for him, receiving an unimpressed look in return.

The blonde simply grinned and vamp sped around to the other side of the car. She frowned slightly however at the ashy tone of his skin, "I'll take you to my home, Lijah. So you can have a shower, get changed and have a drink."

She threw the car into drive and they sped away, Elijah needing a split second to grab his seat, while Alyss cackled away.

"I am unnerved you hold all sorts of clothing for myself and my siblings, Alyss. Never seeing you once-"

"Just because you never saw me, dear one, does not mean I didn't see you." The blonde smiled at him, making Elijah raise an eyebrow at her smirking face as he tied his pyjama pants.

Alyssandra was probably the only person, one who he had thought dead, that he knew he could trust explicitly. She had never lied to any of them when he was human, a constant factor that all the Mikaelson siblings found comfort from. Believing that she had not survived the...destruction of their village had been heartbreaking for them all.

"What have you been doing?" The man asked, sitting at the counter of her lavish kitchen in her beautiful apartment.

"I've been tracking Mikael, dear one." The blonde shrugged as she flipped a pancake.

Elijah choked on air, his eyes blowing wide. "What?!" He spluttered.

She turned to look him straight on as she slid the pancake onto his plate, "Nik keeps your siblings locked away because of your father. Whenever he's nearby, Nik makes sure to keep you all close and far away from him. That's how your brother protects them."

The Mikaelson looked down, Alyss's words bouncing around in his usually well thought out mind, the truth seeping in.

"And what will you do when you find him, Alyssandra? We burned the White Oak Tree-"

He cut off by the blonde's sigh, "I took a small bit of the tree, Elijah."

If he wasn't already shocked from her being alive, her task of hunting down his father, the Noble Mikaelson definitely was now.

"Why would you do such a thing, Alyss? To keep something that could very well kill you."

"Should I find myself without the will to live, dear one, I would have a way out," The blonde murmured down at her own plate, but then she smiled at him, "Don't worry though, Elijah, I had the piece made into a pendant on a leather strand and I gave it to my son."

"Excuse me?"
