I saw the light today
Just like Frank
I live life my own way
I met a local from North Shields
Him I truly thank
My poetry hit him
It crossed valleys and fields
Most poets turn people off!
They go to sleep
and at most scoff
Most poets are up themselves
They lose life's plot
They have no idea where to dwell
Thank you friend, you made me smile
You made me believe in the rank and file
You kind of told me that I had style
More than that, much more than that
You decided to wield your own bat
You never ever liked verse
And yet because of me
You wish to converse
Thank you so much!
You're not following me at all
Your living your life your own way
And I'm certain that your are
nowhere near the final curtain
You're just ordinary yet special
You're just you!
