"Lee Donghyuck! Why are you so slow!"
It was after school. Chenle was currently pacing around the empty hallway where Hyuck's locker was. According to Chenle, he had 'already been waiting for ages.'
Donghyuck was packing his bag, getting all of his stuff together. The two had both volunteered to help out at the bake sale today, and since Renjun wasn't going, Chenle's only option was to wait for Donghyuck.
Donghyuck took his time. The hallways may already be empty, but the volunteering didn't start until around half an hour after the last school bell. They still had a couple of minutes to spare.
"Be patient Chenle, your acting like a literal child right now," said Hyuck, not even turning to look at the younger boy.
"that's because I am a child!" he whined back.
Donghyuck just rolled his eyes as he finished putting his last textbook into his bag. "okay, let's go."
The two boys walked to the gym. The bake sale was being held for a fundraising competition. Since their school was one of the biggest in their region, all of the others schools participating would be coming here.
Chenle and donghyuck walked into the gym. There were a few people scattered around the gym, most of them on their phones waiting for the preparation stuff to begin. The two boys dropped their bags on the bleachers and sat down.
"anyone who is here for volunteering can you please come over to this table!" they heard someone call.
Chenle got up, dragging Donghyuck up as well and the two made their way over to the said table.
"Okay, my name is Chittaphon, but you can just call me Ten, and this is Johnny. We're here to help organize the fundraiser," said a short boy who looked slightly older than them.
At this point, there were slightly more people than before. Chenle looked around before diverting his attention back to Ten.
"So we're gonna split you off into a few groups to set everything up," said Johnny.
The two boys watched as Ten slowly started pointing at people and splitting them up into groups.
There were only a few people left when Ten finally pointed at Chenle and Hyuck. "okay, could you four go set up the balloons?" he asked.
Chenle nodded. "four?" he muttered quietly to himself.
He looked up and saw two other boys. When he realized who they were, he practically screamed and quickly latched himself onto hyuck's arm.
"w-why are you two here? why isn't Jeno with you guys?" Chenle asked quietly.
Jisung laughed quietly. "relax. I'm Jisung, this is my friend Jaemin."
Jaemin nodded with a slightly confused expression on his face. He knew that people were probably scared of Jeno, but he didn't they were this scared of him as well.
Dnghyuck smiled with Chenle still latched tightly onto his arm. "I'm Donghyuck, this is Chenle."
"nice to meet you guys," said Jaemin with a smile.
Chenle relaxed a little bit, removing himself from Hyuck. Why didn't they seem mean at all?
The four boys made their way off to the side, where ten had instructed them to hang balloons.
The first few minutes passed by in complete silence until Donghyuck spoke up.
"so where is Jeno?" he asked.
Jaemin put down his balloon. "He's at home. He didn't want to come," he said.
Donghyuck nodded. "Yeah, same with Renjun."
Jaemin was about to say something when he heard a loud high pitched scream from beside him.
"Ow! Jisung that hurt!"
Jisung looked to the side and saw Chenle standing next to him with one hand on the side of his arm. Seeing this, Jisung immediately apologized. "I'm so sorry! Are you okay? Are you hurt?"
Chenle didn't say anything. Instead, he looked up at the taller boy and punched him on the arm. After seeing the confusion on Jisung's face, Chenle burst into laughter.
Jisung couldn't help but smile at Chenle's cute reaction. He grabbed a balloon and slapped it lightly across the older's arm.
Chenle pretended to be shocked for a second. "oh, you did not just-"
He was cut off by Ten. "We brought cookies for anyone who wants one!"
Chenle immediately dropped what he was doing and ran over to where ten was standing, followed by the other three boys not too far behind.
When they got there, Jisung was instantly met by Chenle throwing a half-eaten sugar cookie at his face, followed by another high pitched dolphin laugh.
Jisung couldn't help but smile. it was a very good thing they hadn't been put in charge of the actual baking.
