"um Jaemin, where are we going?"

Jeno and Renjun were currently walking behind Jaemin as he led the way. The three had taken the public transit to the closest stop and were now walking, but it didn't seem like they were going anywhere close to Chenle's house.

"oh, Chenle said that there was a change of plans. We're gonna meet them at the mall," Jaemin replied.

Renjun sighed. At least they were almost there. He swore that his legs would give out if he had to walk any further. 

When they finally got inside, all three walked to the food court and sat down, waiting for the other three to show up.

Suddenly Renjun felt someone jump onto his back.

"Chenle! I swear to god you scared the shit out of me!" Renjun said while turning to see Chenle, Jisung, and Donghyuck standing behind them.

"hey guys," Jeno said.

"so, Chenle, care to explain why you called us all here?" Renjun asked.

Chenle smiled. "I just wanted to hang out," he said, then waited for Renjun's reaction. When it didn't come, he added, "Also, Jisung and I are officially dating!"

Hearing this made Renjun snap back to reality. Their friends already knew about Him and Jeno, and they also knew that Chenle and Jisung had the biggest crushes on each other. But they had to admit, they did not expect this news.

"Oh my god! Chenle that's so amazing!" Renjun exclaimed while giving Chenle a huge hug.

After all, Chenle was one of Renjun's first friends ever. So hearing this news did make Renjun pretty happy.

"We wanted to celebrate, and we can celebrate you and Jeno while we're at it," Jisung said.

The six boys quickly agreed, all with smiles on their faces.

"let's get some food to eat first, we can find a table and sit down after we buy our food," Donghyuck suggested.

The group separated to buy their food, and arranged a spot for them to meet up afterwards. Jeno quickly took Renjun's hand and the two walked off.

"what about sushi?" Renjun suggested. 

"Whatever you want baby, I'm fine with anything," Jeno said, smiling.

The couple quickly made their way over to the sushi place. While they were lining up, Jeno accidentally stumbled backwards, but stopped himself from falling and quickly turned around to apologize.

"I'm sorry-"

His expression quickly changed when he saw who was behind him.

"mom?" 

Hearing this Renjun quickly whipped his head around to see a piercing gaze staring back at him, which made him quickly drop Jeno's hand in fear.

"Jeno honey, would you like to explain who this boy is?" asked the women, supposedly Jeno's mom in a fairly quiet voice, yet at the same time the voice gave off an extremely cold and threatening vibe.

Jeno looked at Renjun. His eyes looked like they were trying to apologize to him. Jeno looked scared, and this was a side Renjun didn't know Jeno had to him.

But nonetheless, Jeno was still good at hiding it. Anyone who didn't know Jeno well wouldn't be able to detect even a speck of fear In him. Jeno quickly linked his hand with Renjun's, feeling the shorter trembling.

"This is my boyfriend, Renjun," Jeno said.

The two waited for Jeno's mom to say something. She was silent for around two or three minutes before grabbing Jeno by the wrist harshly and pulling him away.

Before Jeno was out of sight completely, he mouthed something to Renjun quickly before being dragged away.

"go have fun, don't come to find me, you'll be in danger," he said.

Renjun stood there, trembling. What had just happened?

What would happen to Jeno? Jeno had said that his parents weren't the best, but Renjun didn't expect them to be this bad. He was scared, and he had no idea what to do.

He quickly found his way back to the group, quickly telling them what had happened while trying to control his tears.

Everything had been going so well, why did something or someone always have to mess it up?
