"Yo Geniece! Anong ginawa nyo nung math time?" Bungad sa akin ni Joe.
"Lection lang, finding the roots sa mga given equations blah blah," I said, uninterested.
"Nakinig ka ba?" She asked again.
"Syempre, wala," I said, sabay hikab.
"At talagang napunta ka pa sa section A despite the fact na ang tamad-tamad mo."
Malay ko rin Joe.
"Maybe they made a mistake choosing me to be in the first section," I plainly said.
"You're smart Geniece, you just don't believe it, and you're pushing yourself down with those thoughts of yours," she pointed out.
"Joella, it wasn't me who destroyed myself. Hindi ako ang dahilan kung bakit nagbago ako. It was him, he destroyed me. Said those words he never should've said, told me he cared even when he didn't, made me feel so special when I wasn't the only one he meddled with. He lied, those promises he said. Those I love you's he uttered. Those kisses that made me feel love. Joella, he broke me," I said, teary eyed.
"Gen, don't put all the blame on him. He had his reasons. Just be happy na tapos na talaga," hinagod nya ang likod ko.
I sniffed, "You're right. Ako pala ang may kasalanan. In the process of loving him too much, I forgot to love myself. I forgot that I needed to prepare myself. But I got blinded, he wasn't the one who wrecked me, who ruined me, nor destroyed me. It was me, I destroyed myself because I loved him too much."
"At nag drama na naman si Geniece. Jusme girl, akala ko ba naka move on ka na?" Marcella suddenly appeared from nowhere.
A smile formed my lips, "Don't get me wrong. I've moved on from him already. It's just the memories, his words-" I stopped, "or should I say, lies."
"Eh kase nga sabi ko sa'yo di'ba na si Kuya na nakita natin kahapon na lang yung pansinin mo, malay mo, forever mo na yun," she teased.
I saw Joe's eyebrow arched, "Kuya who?"
"Grade 9 student," Marcella said with a wide smile.
"Saan ba jan? Star student?" Tanong pa ni Joe.
Napatango agad si Cel, "I see him in the area quite often."
"Name?" Tanong ni Joe.
"Yun na nga eh. I don't know his name, I know him by face only," she explained.
"Oh, that's a bummer," Joella exclaimed, "but I'd surely look for him. I'd do you a favor Gen," she added.
My eyes widened, "Oh don't bother Joe. I'm not interested on him anyway."
"Hindi daw interesado? Pero nung nakita mo sya, kung maka titig, nakakatunaw," Joella then laughed from what Marcella said.
Napairap ako sa sinabi ni Marcella. She's always like this. She's always happy, kind, but sometimes she can be very annoying. She has never been tied in a relationship ever. But her advises about love makes you want to think she has had many past boyfriends. She's tall. Tallest girl in our group of friends, stands 5'9. She has a passion for modelling, at swak na swak talaga yan sa beauty nya. She's fair skinned, slim, has a long thin black hair, has that cute smile and she has braces. And I've never seen her without braces. And believe me, you wouldn't want to here a joke from her. She's the most awkward person I've met my entire life.
"You know what Geniece? I'm excited to see that boy of yours," Joe said, shrieking afterwards.
Joella is another beauty. Well, parang wala namang panget sa grupo namin. Oh, except for myself. She's a little less taller than I am. She has curly hair, and beautiful eyes, you can really see her emotions through them. Unlike Marcella, she's very cautious. She literally gets paranoid easily. Kahit na hindi pa nya ginawa ang desisyon nya, nag-ooverthink kaagad. She's another girl with wisdom. She has a strong faith in God, and she really believes in his power.
