"Chick Flicks, really?" I complained when we sat on the last row.
He looked at me, "ayaw mo?" He asked, brows furrowed.
I rolled my eyes, "suspense thriller is my cup of tea, Veign," I said as I crossed my arms and leaned at the chair, making myself comfortable.
I saw his eyes beamed in amusement through my peripherals, "Awesome, let's watch some next time then," he suggested.
That's when I faced him, I flashed a smile and said, "Really?! When?" Excitement was evident in my voice.
Nakakainip din minsan na wala kang kasama manood ng ganoong pelikula, "Ikaw bahala Genie in the Bottle," he said as he gave my box of popcorn.
Kanina sa cashier nagpupumilit ako na ako ang magbayad kahit sa snacks namin. Pero matigas din ang ulo nitong Ugat na 'to.
"Nagpapauto din 'tong tangang 'to," I snickered when the leading woman started to fall for a jock.
I heard Veign's soft chuckle, "Dinadamdam mo masyado, Genie," he grinned as he faced my direction.
Hinawi ko agad ang mukha nya, making him face back the screen, "Sungit."
Time passed when the girl found the right person for her and a kissing scene was about to happen, "Oh fuck," I cussed when I saw the guy slowly leaning towards the girl and the precious memories of me and Jexon immediately flashed my mind.
"I love you, always and forever. Please remember that," the guy said afterwards.
Those were the exact line Jexon said to me before.
I covered my eyes with my palms as I silently sobbed, he's consuming my mind all over again.
"That guy isn't even wo— shit, Gen, what happened?"
I felt him touch my arm, trying to get my palms out of my face, "Gen, hey, why are you crying?" He was worried, that's for sure. He was even pleading me to let him see me.
I dropped my hands on my legs, there I saw him infront of me, he was kneeling, worry plastered all over his face, "Geniece, you're worrying me. Tell me what's wrong."
He slowly slipped his hands on mine, rubbing his thumb gently on mine, "You can tell me anything, Genie," sincerity was evident in his voice.
"Everything is reminding me of him," I murmured, wiping off my tears, "Tapos na sana. Dapat nga ikasaya ko yan e. Pero hanggang ngayon naghihinagpis parin ako, nakakagago na," I said in between my sobs.
I saw how his brow slowly furrowed as I heard him snicker, "Gago, yan lang pala."
I faced him in disbelief, "Yan lang?" I repeated, "Putangina Veign! Kung alam mo lang!" I shouted.
All heads turned to us, as we heard people telling us to lower down our voices. Namalayan ko na lang din na hinihila na ako palabas ni Veign. He was gripping tight on my arm, napangiwi na ako sa sakit, pero tiniis ko na lang ito.
Dinala nya ako sa isang mini garden outside the mall, he faced me, his jaw was clenching, he was looking at me, fury was visible in his eyes, "Iniyakan mo lang ang isang gago, Geniece," he started.
"Minahal ko e! Wala kang magagawa dun Veign!" I countered.
"Napakababaw nun! Tangina, ang babaw! You're being unreasonable!" He was furious, nagsimula na akong matakot sakanya, but I contained myself trying my best not to let that emotion out.
"Unreasonable? I loved him, he loved me. A year and a half isn't a joke! Marami din kaming napagdaan! So tell me, am I being unreasonable? Do I not have a fucking good reason to breakdown?" Dinuro-duro ko na sya, tears were trying to escape my eyes again, "You are the unreasonable one!" I said as I walked out. I immediately fetched my phone in my sling bag at agad tinawagan si Kuya Andoy para kunin na ako.
