I groaned as I continued to walk to the building. I was aware that it was gonna rain, so I wore my maroon hoodie over my white cotton v-neck shirt paired with skinny jeans and black rubber shoes.

Nasa gitna ako ng field nung umulan, making me soaking wet. I forgot my umbrella because I was moving too swiftly because of my fear of getting late. And I didn't have any choice but to continue my walk to the building, especially that our dorms were a five minute walk away. I cussed endlessly, I was shivering because of the weather and also because I was so fucking wet. Piniga ko yung hoodie ko saka binuksan yung pintuan ng AVR.

"Woah, did you make a last minute decision of diving to the pool?" Willow asked the moment she saw me walking to her.

"Nakalimutan ko payong ko," I answered flatly, sitting beside her.

"Lena?" She asked looking around, hoping she could find her. Luckily the three of us has the same subject in the first period.

Umiling ako, "Hangover," I said, informing her.

"What? Uminom sya kagabi?" She asked, flabbergasted. Lena and I share the same dorm room, while Willow has a cheerleader to be her roommate. Which she constantly mocks when she's with us.

I nodded, "Boyfriend cheated. Hindi nya na lang daw tayo inistorbo kase alam nyang may hangover pa tayo yesterday."

"Did Jexon pick you up that night?" She asked. Naging routine na yun kapag lasing kami. They would be left in the bar until they would be kicked out while I stay with Jexon.

I nodded, "That was the worst state I've ever had," I said and grimaced when I remembered the time Jexon told me about all the shitty things I did that night.

"I woke up in a motel, believe it or not," She said. Napaawang naman ang bibig ko sa sinabi nya. I glared at her in disbelief, then she nodded, "I fleeking had a one night stand with a stranger."

"Gross," Napailing-iling ako, "And you're okay with that?" I asked.

"Totally not. Until now I can't absorb it completely that I just gave my pearl to a stranger. I mean, I woke up seeing a back of a guy. I didn't know what to do. So I carefully went out. It hurts like hell afterwards by the way," She said and afterwards heaved a long sigh.

"Damn, may your pearl rest in peace. Do you remember the guy?" I asked.

She shrugged, brushing off her hair, "Nah. Waste of my time and tears if I do," She said as if she wasn't affected.

A while later, our Prof arrived, wet just like I am, "I have an important announcement to make. Next week is a very special week because, it is the start of Sports fest," Prof Clinton started, "And you must know that this sports fest isn't just any other sports fest. It is the yearly battle of Drappt and Thornley. And this is a two week event. I must inform you that attendance is still a must in these weeks, so don't you dare think of having a vacation, you hear?"

____

"Geniece, can you bring a camera during the sports fest?"

I looked at Collin, "Yeah, sure, chief," I respectfully answered. Last month I joined the school newspaper as the photojournalist. Photography was something I learned to love this summer vacation. How I see more to those photographs. How I understand the story in every shot.

"Geniece and Cassius, we expect you to get beautiful shots in all the sports, okay? Okay na okay lang kahit isang kuha lang ang kukunin nyo. Basta siguraduhin nyo lang na maganda. I'll head over to the Main office now to get the schedule and arrange it for all of you. And writers, I'm reminding you to have an eagle eye and attentive ears, alright? We'll meet tomorrow, 6 o'clock here at our office for a briefing," Collin said as he dismissed us. He is our Editor in Chief. The most responsible person I know.
