I walked out from our school alone. I deserved this anyway.

"Hey," I heard a voice called out. But I didn't mind it anyway.

"Hey," this time the owner of the voice gently tapped my left shoulder.

I had no other choice but to entertain him, "wha– ahh h-hi," I said, my cheeks flushing red.

It's him! It's the guy I bumped into!

"Hi, you okay? Ba't nag-iisa ka?" He asked, I didn't know if he was worried or just curious.

"I just want to," sabi ko tsaka binigyan sha ng matipid na ngiti.

"Can I walk with you?" He asked smiling at me.

My eyes widened, baka mukha na akong kamatis neto, "oh s-sure," I said, staring at him.

His eyes met mine, "are you okay? Ang pula-pula mo," he worriedly asked.

I smiled, "no, I'm fine."

"Oh, I'm Veign by the way," he introduced, offering his hand.

"Geniece," I said and reached for his hand, giving a hand shake.

"You're a grade 9 student, right?" I asked.

He nodded, "and you're an 8th grader."

I chuckled, "so I should call you Kuya then," I mumbled.

"What? No. Don't call me Kuya," he laughed, "nakakatanda," he added.

"Okay, I'll stick to Veign then," I said, smiling genuinely. I really can't deny the fact that this person is making my mood lighter.

He told me that he'll walk me home but I told him not to bother. Especially that his house is on the other way. But he insisted anyway.

We kept on asking each other about random questions to get to know each other more. All the walk from home we just laughed and laughed.

"Okay okay," he said, trying to stop himself from laughing, "you gave the wrong rewards card to the cashier, and the right card was only in your hand?" He asked, laughing again.

"I was confused alright? I thought i was in that mall so I gave that rewards card, not knowing that we were in a rival mall," I defended myself, but it was no use, he just laughed and laughed.

"Hoy Ugat you've had enough laughing!" I complained.

Then he stopped, he remained smiling and wiped his tears, "next question for you Gen–"

"Hey! It's my turn to ask!" I cut him off, having a tantrum just like a 5 year old does.

"Nope, still my turn Genie," he grinned.

I hissed at him while crossing my arms and turned to another direction.

"Tell me what's troubling you the whole day," he said, wiggling his brows.

My brow arched, "what?" I asked, "were you following me Veign?" I naughtily asked, smirking at him.

He faked a disgust, "me? Oh come on. Ba't naman ako gagawa ng ganyan Gen?"

I gasped exaggeratedly, "you're mean! Di na tayo friends!" I said as I walked past him, giggling as I left him on the side of the road.

"F.O. agad?" He said as he caught up with my pace.

"You're mean," I hissed. But still smiling.

"And you're cute," he complemented, pinching my nose which made me shriek.
