Normal POV~

"Mother! Mother come back!" Atem turned his head to the screaming, expecting it to be a child screaming terrifyingly at their mother for leaving them at school. His eyes widened when arms linked around his torso and tears began to soak his shirt.

"You came back, you came back..." The words were continuously spoken and confusedly looked down, distantly recognizing the voice.

"Yami? Are you all right? What happened?" Atem asked, raising an eyebrow. The moment the pale boy raised his head, he realized this wasn't his Yami. This Yami was older, maybe in his very early thirties, his Yami was younger, but it didn't make a big difference really, both were still as beautiful as the day he first met them.

"You're..." As if getting the message, the pale man hung his head and softly clenched his arms.

"I know, I'm not as I used to be maybe a decade ago,"

"Mother, is this my father?" Yami stopped hugging him and looked at the boy, he nodded.

"Yeah," The pale man turned to face him once more.

"Atem, uhm, this is my- our son, Heba." Atem stared at the young child before him, he was maybe around eleven years old.

"So, you must be the jerk who left my mother. Or am I mistaken?" Atem wasn't even shocked at the kid's merciless sentence the moment he said it. He did deserve to be called a jerk for leaving Yami, and of course, not have his son's respect-

Wait, why was he contemplating this? He had already figured this out, it was an alternate reality, a reality where he ran away and never came back after that birthday surprise.

"Heba..." Atem heard Yami murmur worriedly.

"No, it's fine, Yami. You're not mistaken." The former Pharaoh stated, watching Heba's untrusting eyes glare at him.

"Anyway, are you... coming home?" Yami asked shyly, a small blush spreading across his cheeks. That made the former Pharaoh smile.

"Wait a minute, you are letting him inside of our home? Mother, that doesn't seem right!" Heba exclaimed, pointing to his father.

"Heba, he's back! I thought you wanted that?"

"That was back then when I didn't know any better. He doesn't deserve forgiveness, who runs off when their partner announces their child? People with no common sense!"

After a great argument, a broken nose, bloody knuckles, and even more arguing, the three managed to make it home. Yami helped Atem cure his nose, since in this universe he seemed to weaken drastically.

"Yami, I need to tell you something," Atem said after a while of silence. Yami looked up from beside him with warm eyes.

"Yes?"

"I am not... Atem. Well, I am, I'm just not your universe Atem. I'm not sure how I got here-" Before he could finish his sentence, a bright light flashed before his eyes with two voices calling his name.

"John..."

"John? Who's John?" Yami asked. His voice sounding like he didn't believe everything he had just said. His eyes softened ever so slightly after a moment.

"Have you found someone else?" Atem looked at him with eyes the size of plates, a disgusted noise escaped his throat.

"What? John? Hell no!" The former Pharaoh shouted, absolutely grossed out with the idea of even liking that fool.

"Oh, who is he then?"

"He's an enemy of mine, he must be the one who sent me here!" Atem's anxiety suddenly spiked up and he stood up to pace around.
