Normal POV~
"So, who's going to go first? I say Mother, because that was a moment that's going to be written down in History." Heba said after they entered the safety of their home. Although it wasn't really safe seeing as they were attacked not too long ago.
"Going first on what?" Yami questioned, the knife he used to kill Owen with was now in safe keeping. Hidden the in big depths of his magic, waiting to be summoned.
"On the dream thingy, and how did you even get that blade." Atem responded curiously. The words that were imprinted onto it flashed in his mind.
"Oh... Your mother visited me in that dream. She gave me this and said it'll kill Owen." The pale man stated, then he opened the fridge, grabbed a banana, and began to it eat.
"And... Nothing else happened?"
"Nope, nothing at all." But that wasn't true. He didn't want to tell his son, especially not someone who he had already considered himself married to, that he feared that one day Atem will leave him for someone much better.
-Flashback-
'What did he mean mental? Am I really mental? Was I dreaming everything the whole time?' It took Yami a moment to calm down a little so he could at least process some thinking.
'Wow, no wonder he left me. Who would want a little bitch who cries about everything? Last time I checked the guys I liked didn't like little bitches, well, they didn't like guys in general but still...'
"There, there, don't cry anymore." What the Hell? One moment he was crying beside a dying tree, representing how he felt at the moment, and the next moment a women was hugging him, soothing him with comforting words.
"Pardon, but, who are you?" Yami had asked, using his sleeve to wipe away his wet cheeks.
"Oh, excuse my manners! Dear, my name is Khepri, I am Atem's mother." Wait a minute, did he hear right?
"W-What?"
"I know, that might sound crazy, but, whatever you see here. It is not real." Yami tilted his head, eyes puffy and he still had blurry vision.
"Then... are you not real?"
"No, I'm from your universe. What you're seeing right now," she pointed at everything surrounding them. "Is made from the darkest pits of your mind, also known as a fear you knew, or never knew, made into reality. Atem didn't leave you. And if he did I would've made sure he learned a lesson- Anyway, you need to get out of here, and I'll help you." The relief that made it's way to Yami's face made Khepri smile.
"He loves me... He really does... But if I believe that... Then why do I fear it?" 'Stupid question, Yami. Why'd you ask that to his mother?!'
"We're human. It's normal for us to feel such way. Even though we truly believe someone loves and cares for us, there is always insecurities. You fear that my son would one day find someone better than you, but, remember when you first met? There were plenty of other kids, both men and women, who Atem could've chosen from, sure, they might've had things you did not, yet, Atem chose you." Yami stayed silent, letting the words sink into him. She was right, Atem had beautiful men and women lined up for him, yet he chose him. It was odd.
"Well, it was nice talking to my future son-in-law. Take this, it'll kill Owen if you stab him. Anywhere. I'll see you later I hope." The pale man blushed dark red at being called that, he wasn't expecting that one bit. He followed her hand as it landed on his messy hair.
And that was when he woke up.
-Flashback End-
"So, who's next?" Yami questioned, obviously feeling slightly uncomfortable.
"I suppose I'll go. Well, there was complete darkness and I wanted out. So I screamed until I was able to get out."
"Darkness? As if it was consuming you?" The former Pharaoh asked worriedly.
"No, I mean yes. It wasn't much of being consumed. I couldn't find the light."
-Flashback-
After running for a while, Heba stopped and started to walk, tears blurring his vision. He wouldn't let them trail down, however, he couldn't let anyone see him cry. He had to be strong! That must be a trait from his Father...
Heba screamed so many profanities out, in every language that existed, in every dead language, he screamed it. He hated himself for being the reason his mother was dead. And as he screamed before in the language Sanskrit, his mother should've fucking lived and he should've fucking died.
"I want my mother to live! I don't want my father to be depressed!" Heba screamed in Akkadian, still confused on why he had knowledge of the language.
"Gods, why do I know so much? It makes my head pound." The former Pharaoh's son murmured.
Suddenly, whispers lingered in his mind, Ancient Egyptian. It was pretty irritating, and he was very emotional right now.
"I want everything to go back to normal! So, if whatever you are wants to do something useful then make everything normal again!" Heba witnessed as a big tear opened up and images popped up. Images of Owen standing in front of him, his mother, and his father, smiling a very creepy smile. Heba growled at the image.
And that was when he woke up.
-End Flashback-
"I'm glad you got out. Being engulfed by darkness sounds horrifying," Yami smiled gently at him before turning to Atem. "what about you?"
"It... took me a while to figure it out, I eventually got out, however. I suppose it's simple to rip the bindings of our mind and the real world."
"Huh, there's a spell for that?" Heba questioned, the sentence sparking interest.
"There's a spell for just about anything." Atem responded, glad that their earlier conversation was fading away. He and his son turned their head to Yami as he chuckled.
"You guys knock yourself out on the spell talking, I'll older take-out."
***
"I think it's time for me to retire." Atem admitted, closing the book he was no longer paying attention to.
"Why is that?" Yami asked, tilting his head and walking to the closet to find today's sleep wear.
"I've been alive for more than five-thousand years, using magic and wondering what else I could do with it. Now that I have a lover, including a son, I want to spend more time with you guys as a father, a lover that does not bury his head in a spell book." Yami let out a laugh as he tried to insert his leg inside his sweatpants, once he succeeded, he crawled into bed and cuddled Atem.
"I don't care if you retire or not, I'll still love you. Although, I do suppose you being normal would be a nice experiment." Yami murmured.
"Then, for 24 hours, I'll be as normal as I can. First, I'll make love to you without using magic."
"What happened to consent?" Yami giggled, sitting up so he could straddle him. They were twenty minutes into a section when Heba opened the door.
"Mother, Father, how do I make cereal again- OH, MY GODS, I'M SO SORRY!" Heba exclaimed, closing the door immediately and running away with Oreo following close behind.
"Até, I- I think we just scarred him..." Yami groaned.
"Sorry, I forgot to lock the door..."
