chapter three

Taylor's POV

' Is she going to be okay?! ' I asked as they stroll Tessa into the Emergency room. 

' You have to stay outside, Ma'am ' a nurse told me. I finally let go of the bed's rail and knelt right there, in the hallway, crying. People were staring at me. But at that moment, nothing really mattered except Tessa. Funny how a person could mean so much to you even after only knowing each other for a short while. 

' Baby! ' I heard someone called for me but I did not bother to look up. 

' Come here ' it was my mom. She dragged me up and brought me to the nearest seat. I was still crying and she rubbed my back.

' Tell me how it happe- ' suddenly flashes from cameras blinded my eyesight. The paparazzi have broken into the hospital's ground.

' I hate them I hate them ' I cried then my mom took me away from that area.

' Everything is going to be alright, honey ' my Mom soothed me and that, somehow, made it better. 

' Ms. Swift? ' the doctor came out of the room and I quickly stood. 

' Tell me she's okay '.

' She's alright. But she lost an amount of blood. We're out of an O type blood-' 

' Just take mine ' I cut off before he finished his sentence. 

' We checked your record. It's not suitable ' he said, shaking his head. 

' Swifty? ' someone tapped my shoulder and I spun around. It was Ed. 

' I have an O type. I'll donate ' he said to the doctor and the doctor nodded. I do not know what exactly happened because suddenly my lips brushed his. He was very shocked but he kissed me back. He then followed after the doctor.

What was that?

' She's awake ' A nurse said and I quickly paused the song that I was listening to on my phone.

' Where's Ed? ' I asked  as the nurse pushed the curtain so that I could see Tessa.

' Oh, he's on the second floor, signing agreements after donating blood ' she answered and smiled then left. 

' I know you wanna see him. Go. I'll be with Tessa ' my mom said. 

When I found him, I screamed his name and ran into his arms. 

' I'm alright, Swifty ' he said and chuckled.  

' I-I'm sorry about the kiss it was - ' he put a finger on my lips to silence me. 

' It's alright ' he said softly and kissed me. I did not hesitate and kissed him back. 

' Now that's a proper kiss ' he smiled.

Tessa's POV

What I did was very stupid, I know. I realized that. Andrea came to check on me but I was quite disappointed as I thought Taylor would be the first person I see.

' Hey ' Taylor appeared as she drew the curtain. I smiled back, trying to hide my pain. I felt bad for wasting her money over a stupid thing. 

' How are you? ' she asked. I shook my head. 

' Look, I'm so sorry but that wasn't my first attempt. I have anxiety. I'm so sorry, Taylor. If you wanna cancel on adopting me, you may ' I said, tears in my eyes. 

' What are you saying, Tessa? I love you and I'm going to take care of you. I promise you you'll be safe with me ' she promised. 

She opened her arms wide, offering me a hug and I wrapped myself in her brace. I wish that hug lasted forever.

I finally became an official member of the Swift family. Taylor recently got a green light from the social services on my adoption. Documents were made, signs were given, courthouse was entered, it was hard work. But the outcome was worth having.

' Taylor, please, I need my phone back ' I begged Taylor. 

' No, not until your exams are finished. I'm expecting high on you, Tessa ' she replied, making her way to the living room. It was all because of the exams. If Taylor had not enroll me into a new school that would not have happened. 

' But I'm not gonna study, it'll do no difference ' I said, hugging myself. 

' Oh, then no more Netball ? ' she asked, grinning. I hate it when she grins that way. I was recently accepted in my school's Netball team even though I was a new student. It was because I was very good in it.

' That's not fair! ' I shouted. 

' Let's play it fair then. If you study, you still get to play netball. No study, no good results, no more netball. Then this phone will become mine ' she said steadily then turned on the TV. 

' You don't have the right to do so! ' I shouted again. I know she does not like it when I shout, but I really needed my phone back. 

' Who said I don't? I'm your mother. I can do this ' she answered then turned back her attention to the TV. 

' You're not my mom! ' I yelled. I accidentally  yelled. I did not mean it.

Taylor did not reply to what I said. What have I just done?  Taylor is literally the best mother anyone could ask for. I made my way to her and knelt down. ' Taylor I'm sorry I didn't mean it ' I invoked in my best way but she would not even look at me. 

' Okay, I'll study. Just please... forgive me. I'm sorry.... Mom ' I forced myself to use the word Mom. It was my first time. She smiled and hugged me. 

' Thank you ' she said and stroked my hair. I love it when she does that. I smiled back then headed to my room to study for those stupid exams. I knew Taylor only wanted me to be successful in life, but I was only being a normal teenager, rebelling here and there.
