Hello everyone! I'm CJ, your loyal author! Now before you go zooming past this chapter cause its not exactly a real one, this chapter does hold important stuff, not just me ranting!
Although having said that lets start a tiny rant.
I wrote this book because, in all honesty, the fanfics don't hold much justice to the anime, because the demographic of people writing for it is on the younger side of life (I am too but I pridefully hold myself to a higher regard lol) and can get somewhat cringey at times (No diss to ANY HxH writer!!!) I'm here to bring a less cringey book to read when you should be asleep because you and I both know your under the covers reading this at 1AM. Jokes aside, I hope you enjoy my book, I really do.
RANT OVER, sorry about that!
Anywho lets get to your pretty in depth backstory!
You are Gon's sister (I write with the reader being female, I'm sorry guys) and before you go running away from this trope I swear its a little different and won't get overused to the point of 'Nii-San/Brother' suffocation! You're older than Gon, but only by a year (I'm aging Killua up to 13 as well and aging Kurapika down to 15 from 17). You have a few memories of Ging but they're obviously spacey and blurry, since you only had the first year of your life with him.
You never had a blind love for Ging, like Gon did, actually having a pessimistic viewing of him, for abandoning you and your little brother. You were to smart for you own good when you were younger, constantly seeing through Aunt Mitos' lies, no matter how confidently a deep she spun them. Since you held such a hateful viewing towards Ging (Who Mito holds more dearly than she lets on) she sent you out. A lot. To the point where you slept inside anyone who didn't see you as a "problem child" beds' than you did your own. Regardless you and Gon stayed close, no matter how many times Mito said that you were nothing good for Gon.
By the time you were 7 you matured into the mindset of a teenager and had practically moved out of Aunt Mito's place. You were constantly sneaking out with Gon, trying to keep the tight bond that you two share, protecting him always. At a very young age you knew you had to protect him at costs, no matter what. And because of that vow, you understood that you had to become strong, for him.
You knew he wanted to become a hunter, and you did as well if you were honest with yourself, for complete different reasons, Gon wanted to meet his father and make up for lost time, you wanted nothing more to punch the bastard and tell him how much pain he caused just because couldn't accept his responsibilities.
Protecting Gon meant putting yourself in danger, and leaving him unprotected, only for a little while. You held off on taking the hunter exam, waiting to take it with Gon seemed like the better idea but at 9 you first left Whale Island on your quest to become stronger. You had the sheer strength of a man in his prime (Hey don't give me that 'thats impossible I'm only 9' face, this is anime for christs sake, Killua probably first killed some when he turned 5) although you couldn't exactly show your strength in the best way in a 9 year old body. When you hopped on a boat to York New City no one truly expected you to return, except for optimistic Gon.
At 10 you found Wing and he taught you how to use Nen (the quick way) and you turned out to be a conjurer, to no ones surprised based on how their personalities is viewed.
(Ayooo amazing author moment incoming, giving you the conjurer personality, if you were, y'know, curious)
(Your welcome)
After a lot of arguing a deal making, Wing told you that you could set a few conditions to make your power stronger. He never truly expected you to be able to go through with the deals he set. First he made you go through Heavens Arena, with using little to no Nen and then to build up a Nen pool that rivaled his. You blew through Heavens Arena quite quickly, the real problem was the Nen pool.
Regardless of so, you trained yourself to be in a constant state on Ten (The state of building up your nen) for up to 6 months nonstop, puting yourself in a coma like status. You finished your Nen training at 11 and a half, around the time he picked up Zushi.
Your Hatsu (Your special power. I.e Kurapika's chains, Killua's lightning, etc.) is to conjure things of nature like: Unbreakable tree branches (Unbreakable due to the conditions you set which we'll go over soon), leaves as sharp as blades, healing herbs, poison ivy, thorned vines, different flowers with a plethora of different toxins for different uses (The most commonly used is a flower that releases spores that can knock anyone out). All of these abilities take a small amount of Nen to use if used in small scale fights.
You had set 3 Conditions, each one making a different area of your Nen stronger. The first one was to make your branches indestructible and pack a heavy hit and the condition was if you fail to protect Gon (I.e let him die) you'll never be able to use Nen again. The second condition was to allow you to have so many different abilities (Most pros only have a few aces up their sleeve but you have over 10) and the condition was if Gon were to ever substain a mortal injury (I.e let him have an actually near death experience) You wouldn't be able to use nen for a month, and lastly the 3rd and final conditon is used to keep a monstrous Nen pool, if you ever use your Hatsu to severly hurt Gon, accidentally or on purpose, you would never be able to use that ability again.
For 6 months you traveled around, trying to gain as much experience in combat without a hunters liscence.
At 12, against everyones thoughts you returned Whale Island and reunited with Gon who was overjoyed at your return. This story starts a little less than one year after your return to whale island.
