Chapter 3- Sailor x Saver

A/N: AHHHH i want this story to blow up but none of my stories do but I'm still having fun writing this AHHHH.

I watch Blue Suit and Kurapika walk into the captains quarters as I silently fall down from my hiding spot inside the crows nest. I go into a state of Zetsu and use the Silent Gait, making my footsteps completely mute. It was a bit extra but I wanted to sneak up on them plus it doesn't take the knowledge of Nen to sense it. They both walk in and give me a small crack through the door to watch them. I see that Kurapika has a surprised look on his face that quickly turned to disappointment, the self centered part of me thinks that the reason behind his expressions is that he doesn't see me in the room but the more logical side of me says he's disappointed that - to his knowledge - only 3 hunters made it this far including himself.

"So why do you all want to be hunters?" The captain asked, keeping his eyes glued to the sea, still steering.

Gon gleefully answered, telling the captain and the the other two applicants in the room that he wants to find our father. I mentally facepalm at him being so sharing.

"Why should we tell you?" Kurapika asks, not in an accusatory sense though.

"Yeah!!" Blue Suit agrees, loudly. Prickly, just like I thought..

"Because he's a screener," I say, making my big and flashy entry, all eyes falling on me. "Meaning he's one of the people who decide whether you pass or not."

Blue Suit and Kurapika mouths both fell agape in the shape of an 'o'

I join the line of people who stood before the captain, in between Gon and Kurapika.

"Glad to see you didn't drop out," Kurapika whispers to me.

"Feelings mutual," I respond with a smile.

"Well, yeah. Me and Gon are siblings and we're trying to find our father, who's also a hunter," I elaborate further, I see Kurapika and Blue Suit eyes glance between me and Gon looking for some sort of resemblance. "We know we look nothing alike..."

Gon chuckles and rubs the back of his neck. "The names Y/N, by the way," I say mostly for Blue Suit guy.

"Well if thats the case," Blue Suit starts, sounding aggitated. "I'm Leorio and I want to become a hunter for the money!"

I could greed flash in his eyes as I roll my own. There are so many better things to do with a liscence than to simply sell it and be set for life.

"Wait! Wait! Wait! Not because I'm greedy, you have the wrong idea!" Blue Suit- Now known as Leorio defends.

"Really?" Kurapika claps back. I can tell he already doesn't like him.

"Yeah, really!" Leorio yells back and continues on why he wanted to become a hunter, Kurapika constantly interjecting with rude comments. Eventually Leorio finished his story and Kurapika startes his own sob story on his reasons, Leorio interjecting in some places but not exactly in a rude way, he held some sympathy for his sad upbringing but he was annoying him nontheless. One thing led to another and they flat out started arguing.

"Wait-" Gon starts, attempting to break up the argument that will certainly lead to a fight. I glance down at him, shaking my head telling him not to get involved.

I wonder what got Kurapika so mad so quickly. I got bad vibes from Leorio as well but.. He seems to be more of a laid back person.

"If thats how you really feel lets go outside then!"

And certainly not to pick fights with someone. But what can I say, I just met him today. They walk out of the captain quarter with me and Gon following.

"Try not to get involved, if things get to heated I will," I tell Gon who nods in return.

Leorio flicks out his knife and Kurapika takes out wooden nunchucks. They exchange a few words of trash talk while Kurapika takes off his over-shirt. They finally charge at eachother. I bite my lower lip hoping things won't get too bad, considering Leorio has a knife and Kurapika has a blunt object.

The scene is set due to the raging storm thats above us that is effectively making me drenched and cold, I flip the hood up on my cloak for some sort of protection. Leorio jabs at his opponent, cutting his undershirt but missing his skin.

Another jab and Gon steps forward but I raise my arm across his body to stop him, Kurapika just barely dodging again as he attack him with his nunchucks that missed. The fight went on with Kurapika doing an impressive backflip to dodge.

"Stop!!" A crew member yells running towards the fight. He tried to stand in the middle of it but the deck was too slippery.

He fell overboard.

In a flash Gon jumped overboard as well, my reactions followed Gon just as fast. I tried to stay on the boat by hooking my foot to the end of the banister but that proved to be too slippery as well. I pulled Gon closer to me, if we were to fall down into the water the last thing I would want to happen is for us to get separated in the rough water.

I suddenly felt a hand tightly wrapping around my ankle and pulling me back.

"Ah!" I yell as I got the wind knocked out of my lungs, making contact with the deck.

Wait.. My back isn't soaked so it can't be the deck..

I tilt my head up and see Kurapila's grey eyes looking back at me with a small blush covering his face. He lets out a small laugh and so do I after rolling off of him.

I look at the sailor that went overboard kissing the deck, thankful for being back on it and I let out another adrenaline filled laugh

"Woo!" Gon lets out before laughing.

"Now that was something," I say before giggling, feeling the rush of adrenaline.

"Uh.." Kurapika mumbles.

"Side effect of an adrenaline rushfor her," Gon answers.
